Well, if you agree please could you upload exp2 that it's in git? I have added a
lot of changes that you can review in git. I have added myself as Uploader. If
you don't agree, delete me

And about the name, yes, if it's in experimental, we can try to request a
transition.

yes, but I need first soqt done to test it. Probably a lot of things will fail.

Hi Leo,

thanks for the work on those packages! Sure, we can drop
the v5 already. But I think we need to request transition window
for that change.

Also, very important to be sure that the current freecad can be
built against both of these libs.

Coin3d and SoQt

2018-02-20 Thread Leopold Palomo-Avellaneda
Hi Anton and Debian-science list,

I have been working with Coin3 and SoQt.

In Coin3 I have made small modifications to include cmake files. Pushed in
experimental branch, not in the archive.

Don't you think that maybe we should drop the v5 part?

In SoQt, I have been able to create in the Qt5 branch a version that uses the
Coin3 from experimental exp2, just in git and build a SoQt that depends on Qt5.

I have dropped and renamed some files and packages soqt-common.

Please, could you check one eye on it? if you want, not need to push changes,
just tell me what do you miss and I'll prepare a new version to push in
experimental.

Thanks,

Leopold

Anton,

you are right. I was confused with the original sources. It seems that the
package in experimental fix the bug.At least use the system expat library.

I'm so sorry for the noise.

I suppose that soqt hs to be the cmaked version to be compiled against coin.
I'll check. pivy ... I have no idea.

yes, on February I',, will help with the migration.

Anton. Are you sure is fixed?

I have looked the coin sources Cmake version and it uses the internal expat
version always. I.ll check it .

The bug really exists in unstable and testing. The version in experimental is
fixed and really depends on libexpat1. But as I told you, soqt and pivy
should be fixed to be built against cmaked-version of coin3.

That would be fine! So we could then upload experimenatl->unstable and
finally fix #874727.

still has the bug. At least what the users said. Looking on the CMakeLists, the
CMake version uses the internal expat version. I would try to look on it, but I
cannot promise anything.

I hope I could help on February for this packages. I use coin3+soqt so no
problem here.

Hi Leo,

I built coin3d+cmake in experimental trying to fix #874727.
But yes, one need to build also soqt and pivy.

Qt5+Coin3 is difficult because freecad does not support it yet.
I am not going to maintain coin3+soqt+pivy.. any more (very
limited time and no use of those packages).

Coin3d and SoQt with Qt5 and CMake

2018-01-10 Thread Leopold Palomo-Avellaneda
Hi,

Coin3d is moving to CMake as build system ans SoQt is moving to Qt5 (finally).
Anton, I have seen that you have pushed to experimental coin3 with CMake.

It would be possible to have a version in Debian (at least in experimental) os
SoQt build with Qt5 and begin a transition of all the packages involved?

Best regards,

Leopold
