Also note that if those packages actually did contain malicious code,
uninstalling is a totally pointless exercise. I rather doubt that an
attacker is going to be kind enough to add a remove script for their
rootkit ;)

I used the full path of ftp://security.debian.org/debian-security

Try http instead of ftp, If you insist on using ftp (which might be a
bit slower) try ftp://security.debian.org/debian-security as the base
path.
