Estou instalando o gnome2 p/ woody num pc sem acesso a internet e qndo
ele instala alguns pacotes tenta baixar arquivos da net, dando um:
xmlNanoHTTPConnectAttempt: Connect attempt timed out.
Isso poderia prejudicar o meu sistema de alguma maneira?

Veja se nao tem outro programa (um servidor de som, por exemplo, como o
aRts ou o esd) usando o /dev/dsp. Acho que o KDE inicia por padrao o aRts,
que deve ficar usando o /dev/dsp.
Se for isso mesmo, tente usar o artsdsp ou desativar o aRts.

Depois de copiar os arquivos acentuados de uma pasta para outra (backup) no

re-encoding may not work for the same reasons copying with mencoder
didnt. Plus the reason I want to do it is to prevent reencoding, I mean
I could reencode with mencode as well to a smaller screen or lower
