Using fax on a mobile network ?

All graphics browsers locking up with print, print preview etc

I've posted elsewhere about printing problems with Firefox 3 but this is different. On my Thinkpad Z61M *all* graphics browsers (Iceweasel, Opera, Epiphany) lock up if I try to print, print preview, or use Page Setup. I have to kill them from a different xterm. This is obviously not a browser prob
