Furthermore, it only affects the keyboard. Working with just the mouse you would never discover the problem. But once you try to type something, you realize the window isn't listening yet, and you have to ALT-TAB away and back to be able to type anything. Quite an embarrassment here on the mighty D

You can avoid the 8GB trap if you use GRUB as you have done. But i think it's because Grub can be placed elsewhere than on the MBR. It's a chronic problem with LILO cos there's no other place for it. The normal work-around is to use an 8GB primary partion C with another larger one D made later w
