Hello, I hope this is a good place to ask about the prospects of running Debian Jessie on a Lemote Yeeloong? In my searches I have got the impression that while Lemote was well supported on Wheezy - ie X patch, custom kernel - this community seems to have died out before their efforts were extended to Jessie. Would this be correct?
Myself, I have had the laptop for a few years and had Jessie on it, with kernel image 3.11, without patching X or caring about the wifi. Updating to 3.16 would result in me landing on a initramfs shell on boot. Connecting to a wireless network would result in a kernel panic, which may be the following bug: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54391 though I did not try that patch. Instead, I now installed wheezy on it, with image 3.2 - I can now connect wirelessly with no kernel panics. However, the software is rather old and the release of Jessie is imminent. Does there happen to still be a community and any repositories I could be getting my updates from (ie in my search I have found some repositories at http://www.anheng.com/, but I do not understand a word on their site and do not know whether they 're up to date and trustworthy). At the moment my biggest issue seems to be the kernel image - would I be able to upgrade to Jessie while holding back the kernel to 3.2?
