I noticed that there now is a directory .Ted. Maybe one now has to put
configuration for Ted into some file there. But which file? Is this
documented somewhere? Or is it a bug? Did anybody experience the same
problem?

I finally upgraded to woody and mostly everything went smoothly or I
could solve them myself.
But two problems I couldn't figure out myself:
1) I have my xserver up and running. But dpkg tells me that it isn't able
to configure a bunch (12) of xservers. Just one server as an example:
