ALSO - LILO, anyone?
Yeah..
I can't for the life of me figure out how to get lilo going, even
though I think I've read almost everything there is (does this mean
I'm too stupid for linux?)... anyway, my disk setup is as below:
/dev/hda1 boot primary dos fat 16 (big) 2

Download window manager you want , install it, and
edit /etc/windows-manager so that at the start up of X it will run what
you want.

Or, if you can not call the xf86config,
just change the modes in the setup file to 480x320 and see if it runs.

It is very likely that you will have a problem with your modem. US
Robotics makes good Winmodems, that are not working for Linux.

I got a small problem in X: sometimes, when I restart my xserver, mouse
stops working, and only reboot fixes it.
Any ideas what is it?

No, my mouse is a device in my kernel.
Btw, I'm using Microsoft mouse, plugged into Com1.
But it's not an IRQ conflict, my isapnp managed all IRQ numbers.
Anymore ideas?

You could add a line into lilo.conf
default = winlabel
Then save it, run
lilo /etc/lilo.conf and reboot.
This should take care of a problem.

I just finished compiling my own kernel( 2.0.34), and it comes out of size
788K, which is too big for Lilo to handle.
Are there any ways around it?
I tried make bzImage, like HOWTO suggested, but at the end of compilation
I get:
as86 -0 -a -o bbootsect.o bbootsect.a

Use LILO, that seems to be the only solution, other than loadlin
If you already installed Debian, and chose not to use LILO during the
installation, you will need to write your own /etc/lilo.conf and run lilo
to make changes to the mbr.

Hello all.
I am trying to write my lilo.conf file, since when I was installing Linux,
I decided not to use Lilo, and just boot it from a floppy.
Right now I need to make use of Lilo, so here is my problem:
I got 2 IDE HD's , C and D, hda and hdb respectively
C contains win95
D has a small 20M DOS

Hi,
Put your provider's DNS IP into file /etc/resolv.conf like this:
# /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver DNS.IP.YOUR.PROVIDER
Good luck, Paulo Henrique

Hi.
I was wondering if anyone knew what else could be done:
I am trying to set up ppp connection, but somehow my modem is not being
detected by wvdialconf. The modem is on COM2, but wvdialconf says that it
checks it and modem is not found.
I am using SupraExpress 336i Sp.
