Mouse freezes

Kernel compilation error / Kernel too big.

I just finished compiling my own kernel( 2.0.34), and it comes out of size 788K, which is too big for Lilo to handle. Are there any ways around it? I tried make bzImage, like HOWTO suggested, but at the end of compilation I get: as86 -0 -a -o bbootsect.o bbootsect.a make[1]: as86: Command not

Use LILO, that seems to be the only solution, other than loadlin If you already installed Debian, and chose not to use LILO during the installation, you will need to write your own /etc/lilo.conf and run lilo to make changes to the mbr. HTH, Andrew

Modem detection trouble.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew what else could be done: I am trying to set up ppp connection, but somehow my modem is not being detected by wvdialconf. The modem is on COM2, but wvdialconf says that it checks it and modem is not found. I am using SupraExpress 336i Sp. Andrew
