You seem to be much smarter by far than 98% of the people on this list. I
have been trying for a couple of days - via the Debian list yesterday - to
find out how to make my linux part. bigger w/o losing everything. I'm sure
the many e-mails must 'bout drive you batty some days!
I tried to find
When I split up my hard drive between WIN98 and Debian, I made the Debian
partitions too small. Is there any way to go back in there now and steal
back some of the empty space that WIN98 now owns - without re-loading
anything ??
I have downloaded DB2 for Linux from IBM. I am on version 2.0.38. Has
anyone tried to install this trial DB2 on Debian yet?? Will it work with
2.0.38 or do I need to upgrade??
If upgrading is necessary, can someone point me to a simple set of
instructions. If I upgrade, will I likely lose
I read where the grep command (along with ? command) can be used to search
your whole hard drive for any file that has a record containing the
particular character string that you are looking for.
Greetings,
I had no problem using pppconfig to set up Linux to my ISP. Also, I have
installed the Netscape package and all works well.
Now, I have a 2nd need - to also be able to connect to my company's RAS
server from my home and then be able to Telnet into our mainframe. I do
this now with
I have netscape working fine. I can print fine for a command line. When I
hit the print button from the Netscape browser, I just get pages and pages
of garbage. What should I be looking at ??
Someone told me yesterday that I have lousy modelines and that I should
run Xvidtune. My problem is that I navigated through many directories to
get to that, but then it doesn't execute when I type in that name? Says
command not found.

Greetings,
I had Debian Linux up an running just fine - until I removed the serial
mouse and replaced it with a PS/2 mouse. Actually, I was playing with the
modem COM and IRQ settings too.
Now, the PS/2 mouse works fine when I boot into WIN98, but freezes when I
boot into the Linux x-window
Can anyone tell me why my X-window appears in a letterbox format - i.e.,
it only uses about 2/3 of the 15 monitor? I can't figure out how to get it
to the full screen format?
