Hi there,
I'm having a problem with my Microsoft Intellimouse (an intellimouse with
two buttons and a scroll wheel that uses the ps/2 interface) since going
from a 2.2.x kernel to 2.4.1. The way i have setup (and how everything
worked perfectly before this upgrade) was that gpm was set to read

hi, i'm having a small problem with my potato workstation. The problem is
that i'm unable to listen (or do anything with) my audio cds. Before
anyone asks, yes, the cd audio cable is connected, and the drive does work
properly otherwise. By this, i mean that i can mount any kinda of data cd

Hi, i just did a port scan of my machine, and noticed something out of the
ordinary (at least to me). I could account for every open port on my
machine but one: port 1493, which nmap reported as being netmap_lm . I'm
curious as to what this really is, since i can't figure it out. It's not

Hi, i'm running off a new install of Potato, with GNOME and E all happily
working. However, their is one problem. The various utilities in all the
GNOME menus for screensavers don't work. In other words, i can't get the
screensaver to kick in at all after it's initial idle time (or for that

how do you get console-apt? I can't find any package in potato named

so i used to be running the 2.2.17-ide kernel which came with potato, but
have since took it upon myself to go with a homegrown kernel, one which i
have configured and compiled myself. I downloaded the source to 2.2.16
and patched it to the latest 2.2.17pre19. I configured, and compiled it

So with the new release of potato, i've gone and done a clean install onto
a new machine of mine. The problem at hand (i think) stems from the fact
that this machine has a HighPoint 66 card, so i thought it ideal to
install the special 2.2.17-ide kernel included with potato. So during the
