It is very easy to defeat PDF security in any file that has a blank user
password since it is just up to the application to enforce security.

Thanks for any help you can provide. If this question has an obvious
answer that I could have found, a pointer would be helpful. (I'm a
Debian newbie but a definite Linux oldbie (since 1992 when everyone
