To get better video performance, I ended up compiling
Intel's Xorg video driver (xf86-video-intel).
Shrinking the Windows 7 partition was awkward, although
it looks like Partition Wizard (based on Linux =) will handle
this task easily.

methods. This does get the tags. It depends on a couple
of utilities. Looks like you will still need to write a
script to recurse through all your music directories.

If at all possible, I'd recommend your installing 64-bit
debian in a separate partition. That way, you can go back to
your operational 32-bit system if need be, and have a
way to troubleshoot 32/64 bit issue
