I just installed Mailman on my Potato server here at work and attempted to set
up a test mailing list. None of the welcome messages were sent out. After
digging around for a while, I found

Netscape whether it's running on Linux, MacOS or Win98, whether outside my
firewall or behind it. IE under Win98 just times out and says the page
can't be displayed.

I am not sure this is true but try 256 characters. I think that what
they setup for WindowsNT and Linux was following?
