I have a hsf modem and sarge. Compilation is
required
during installation, and it fails.
Anyone knows the reason? Below is output
I load /boot/config-2.4.27-2-386 to xconfig, and
compile it, will the kernel be the same as
/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.27-2-386?
I'm afraid my kernel will look for modules in
/lib/modules/2.4.27, not in /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386

My scsi is an old ISA, use jumper to set irq, and use
aha152x module. During sarge installation, it fails to
find my disk automatically. I enter the command on the
console:
modprobe aha152x io=0x340 irq=10
The installation proceed, every thing seems OK except
the disk speed is slow. After
I have win2k and sarge on hda3 and use grub to dual
boot.
Then I re-partition hda3 and re-install sarge, sarge's
installation program find win2k, so I let grub
install to MBR. Later, I find I can't boot win2k,
win2k complains some files missing.
Pls help!
My window manager complains:
twm:warning:font for charset GBK-0 is lacking.
I search package list of sarge, can't find a font
package that include GBK.

I have a IDE-CDROM. how to use it thru scsi emulation?
I add a line to menu.lst,
append hdb=ide-scsi
I load some modules (ide-scsi... ) it just does not work
