Running Sarge, my Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop loads the proper sound
module, snd-OPL3SA2. But XMMS and GNOME-CD will only occasionally play
the sound from an audio-CD, even though they read the titles from the
CD tracks.
What's the problem?
Somebody recommended that I upgrade the kernel to 2.6.
through Digital Audio Extraction?

Sarge. I would be interested in hearing other people's experiences.
I now have ndiswrapper installed, can load the driver with modprobe,
but have yet to make my LinkSys card connect to the network.

Apps that I know have this issue are: GAIM, Everybuddy, and Gabber. I
suspect more have this problem. This leads me to think it's a X4.1 bug,
but I'm not sure.

Okay, I understand that now. I want to upgrade mozilla to the rc-3, and
for the life of me can't get apt-get install to upgrade it. I'm pretty
sure im using the correct version number, but I'm lost

I know this has been asked before, but what are , in general terms, the
way of upgrading an entire system to woody? I have to install stable
first (on an alpha...due to woody install glitches), and need help
finding documentation on how to do it.
