Where and how to save Alias at?

I tried to set up an alias for shutdown -h now and worked fine. When I rebooted it was gone. Is this a one time thing each session or can I save my alaises to a file for all sessions? Thanks Paul Go here to see the TKCL proposed knife calendar pictures!

Someone brought me a disk with Debian 2.2 on it and the packages. My problem is I have a laptop with CDROM and floppy interchangeable, but not resident together. I also have part of a Debian shell on the laptop, no DOS partition, etc., just Debian and a Swap partition. When I go to the

Hi, I'm really quite new at this. Just installed 2.0.4 of Debian on my laptop, wiping out Windoze completely. :-) I just have the basics as the person I got it from just gave me the basic files, no packages, just the base system. Anyone have the whole set on CD? Oh and I also have a problem.
