That is, put an "#" before the option or maybe write false instead of true?

I have tried to run 2.4.0 with that patch from you are talking about.
It just dont work.
I have crashed my system about a million times with it.
X just wont start, it just crash the computer.
You could try it, but dont get angry when it crashes your system, i have

I find it much easier to mess with the initscript with the
update-rc.d script.
To remove for example xdm from the initscript you enter:
'update-rc.d xdm remove'
If do do that, then xdm wont start from init any more.
I dont know the exact command but you can do it the other way to, that is,

I was going to try LPP today so i patched the 2.2.18 kernel against that
and it worked perfect.
I compiled the kernel with vesa framebuffer and edited lilo
to:
vga=0x301
append="console=/dev/tty2 CONSOLE=/dev/tty2"
It workes perfectly, the logo shows when i boot as it should do.
But when i for
When i su to root, then root wont use the LANG variable.
Well.. the LANG isn't passed on from the normal user..
How could i make it so that su will use that..
Sorry.. i cant describe it better, hope you understand!
otato ISOs.
I would be very happy if there already are ISOs out there ready be
downloaded, but i can make it my self from school since we have a pretty
fast connection there.

I have a normal woody (as in the old woody.. not the test thing..) system.
I have apache installed as a normal .deb package using apt.
But it seemes that the standard apache can't use php.
I have searched for a php module in my system but i cant find any :(
I noticed that there are php* packages i

Did you just happen to miss this part of alla the mails you get from the
list?
It workes for me!
Maybe you have a damn slow computer?
On my P2 400 with 192 mb ram it takes a while to start programs in wine..
Or, perhaps you have not configured it right?

How do i ch
Is there some way i can change the username on mail sent by pine?
Since my local user is vovin the mail be shown as from vovin, which workes
for now.
But if i change to another pop3 host.. then that username won't work.
And i do NOT want to change user on my local system just becaus mail is
fucked
You can edit the ~/.pinerc i think..
There is some options there where to looke for the mailboxes..
Just change it to ~/Mail or something.

Playstation cd's contains audio tracks.
You cant do a 'dd' on audio tracks.
Write the name in " ", so that My Documents is "My Documents"

Try with a better and larger cpufan.
My K6-2 400 was so hot that Linux crached all the time.
Nearly all those who sells computer with K6-2 and K6 use a to small
cpufan.
Sad but true..

I like update-menus ALOT, but would like it even better if it had support
for diffrent languages, like swedish and so on.
Would this be impossible?
I know its not much, its just the "net" graphics" and those things that
needs to be changed.
I am using vga=9 on at the moment in my lilo.conf .
I would like to use the next mode, but my my eyes dont like the low
refreshrate :(
I dont use framebuffer, since the console gets so slow, try running ls
/dev if you are using framebuffer at 1280x1024 :(
Well, i dont like framebuffer at all..

Try using the MAD16 in kernel->sound.
In think i read it in the Documentation dir or in the help info in
menuconfig.
My old OPTI soundcard worked that way.
Just set the right dma and irq stuff, and it will work.

Where can i find kde in .deb ??
I have licq fron potato so i dont want kde to get in trouble with
my existing qt libraries.
Is there a program to check how long one have been on ppp ?
I used a program in windows to check how long i have been on internet.. so
that i do not get to expensive bills :)
So i would like one for linux :)
I know its enough to check the /var/logs/ppp...
But its not that funny :(
I was able to put potato in sorce.list and did apt-get install xfree.
It worked for me..
I have gtk and gnome from potato on my slink and it workes pretty good.
The only thing that does not work is sawmill and winowmaker.
But use blackbox so it do not matter to me :)

How can i let normal users run pon?
It would be much easier if a normal user can use those nice looking
pon applets for gnome.
Now they have to su and then run pon :(
When i installed debian slink last week all i did was select the
"preselected packages" for a normal computer with gcc, X and those things.
What is so hard about that?
And when i wanted to install something.. like aumix, i just ran apt-get
install aumix from the cdrom.
I do not realy see the har
I just found the file "/etc/gateways" in my debian slink system.
What is that file for?
Im just a Linux beginner.. but shouldn't gateways be configured
with the command "route add default gw ..." ??
