I'm guessing you are running potato, so if not this may not apply: I've compiled every prerelease version of x11amp, up to and including beta1.1, without problems. You have the gtk and glib stuff, but do you have the gdk stuff too? For me, x11amp needs these libraries: tomorrow:~ ldd

Actually, I'm basically running a glibc2 version of potato. :) (I compiled many of the potato stuff using the glibc2 in slink on a slink system). I'm still a little squeamish about glibc2.1 and I'm running potato at work where ddd has just stopped working since upgrading from slink. I

I installed Slink this morning; debian seems to be up and running just fine. X, however, is another matter. xdm tries to find an xserver, and can't find a /etc/X11/XF86Config file. It just isn't there. Startx also can't start x, but it doesn't even tell me why, so I'm going with xdm's

1999-03-12 Thread surak
Are you upgrading from a 2.0.x series kernel? If so, there are a number of changes to the way sound is set up -- read the docs in Documentation/sound. Especially if you compiled sound support as a module (which I'm guessing you did since you weren't asked to configure it), it would be a good idea

Two things: 1) /usr/lib/games/nethack/nethack should be chmod-ed 2755, owned by root and belonging to group games. I suspect this is where your problem lies. /usr/games/nethack is just a wrapper shell script to execute the nethack binary. 2) Are you running hamm (Debian 2.0) or slink (frozen)?
