Thanks to help from the list I now have 16 bitplanes. However now I cannot use the higher resolutions anymore. Is it really not possible with 4 mb. Here is the xdm-errors: XFree86 Version 3.2 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6100) Release Date: Oct 26 1996
