I have the same problem with my NIC 3C905C and
debian.
dmesg ?less dosn't say anything about it
but
less /proc/pci detects it
It will only show up in dmesg if the kernel detects it. The kernel
will only detect it if it knows to look for it. Without having support
compiled in or as a module
