getmail have a script called
getmail_fetch to use in your own scripts. It doesn't need config files,
just command line parameters. I used it to make a "multithreaded" email
fetching script, which is working pretty good.

die Nachrichten erst nach bestimmten Zeiträumen vom Server zu löschen.
