I agree. Not
Hello,
I was the first to respond to your post, I responded directly not to
the list and gave very clear directions:
send an email
TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: unsubscribe
you will notice the new footer:
To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Co

There must be some entrenched attitudes here. I don't see why
people want to punish others for not understanding the syntax
of a command that most people never use.
I must admit that the neatest trick I've seen is that used by egroups:

I notice that you are using a Win-NT based mailer
[Mozilla 4.5 (French)] for sending this mail you
have sent.
Go into Mozilla and do/ type only the following:
a) To : [EMAIL PROTECTED]
b) Subject : unsubscribe
c) Turn off your signature file (if any)
d) Send the mail
Please DO NOT type anything
om a non-'nix OS, will actually read it
and then extrapolate from it to their system. Unfortunately I'm not betting
on it.:-)

Hmmm, problem is that not-Unix people may not be able to understand that:
mail -s unsubscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED] < /dev/null
means:

A few might. Why punish them for it by giving them one they can't use?

Some got on by accident, some were subscribed by "friends", and some are
just clueless. All of them need all the help they can get. Why make it
hard for them to go
