How can I install slink onto my laptop given that the laptop only has a
floppy and no cdrom?
If i can somehow get it going enough to configure the network... then I'll
be able to access the install files via a remote shared cdrom or ftp etc.

Yeah, you can install the base system using floppies, which is enough to
get your network up.

With kernel-package you can create a *.deb from your compiled kernel. Can
you install this?

kernel (because she has a new hard drive controller that only the 2.3.x kernels
recognize). What I tried to do is compile the kernel from my own linux box (I
tested it out and it booted fine, by the way), copy it

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to install debian on a Sun PCi (the
little pc cards you can get to go in the Ultra series which run windows
and dos). I've been trying to do it for a while, and no matter which
kernel I get, it says:

- I notice that dselect now has options installing from a CD and
installing from a CD set (option 2). Option 2 seems to be the default.
Whats the difference? I heard that Slink could not be fitted into one CD
anymore, so I assumed that
