Everybody noticed this and a lot more. Most people wrote a script
'kill -9 netscape; rm -f ~/.netscape/
that at least on my machine :-). But If you
select File / Close and close untill the last netscape
windows it doesn't usually happen like that.
I got communicator installed from netscape and suspect
that it may not be compatible, then I delete that and
use apt-get to install from security.debia

I am having a problem with netscape (communicator 1:4.77-2) that doesn't
appear in any bug reports or a quick search of the archives.
When I scroll a page up or down or select some text some of the fonts turn out
garbled.
