I've noticed that when I play quake2 in xfce, that it briefly freezes every
once in a while. This does not happen if I'm using Gnome, or Ion3. Anyone
else noticed this? I'm using Etch, on a Pentium III with 450 MHz, and 384 MB
ram.

Depuis que je suis passé à ALSA, le son marche pour TOUS les jeux sauf
Quake 1 et Quake 2. Il est méchamment haché. Je pensais à des réglages
foireux de fichiers de configuration mais comme ça se produit pour les
deux jeux et aucun des autres (Quake 3, prboom, La série UT et Unreal

Well, if it ain't broke, why fix it? I happen to be running Quake 3
without a hitch on top of XFree86, so it probably has to do with your
nvidia drivers.

se no seu sources.list vc adicionar o potato non-free e contrib e der
$apt-get update
e depois
$apt-cache search quake

El problema que tenía era que una librería libGL.so que era un link
hacia otro lugar, el lugar a donde apuntaba había sido removido (mediante
alguna actualización). Corregí el link (hacia mi GL), y todo parece funcionar
perfecto.

ich musste mich schon belehren lassen, dass die G400 (mit 16MB RAM)
nicht gerade das ultimative ist, was es momentan gibt. ich will aber bei

mit 16 bit farbtiefe, kann sogar das DRI installiert werden. GLX treiber

sigue sin errores hasta que intento correrlo. Cuando ejecuto el programa (tanto
q3demo como q3demo.x86) la lentitud que adquiere no me deja ni siquiera hacer
