Whenever I try to initialize Quake 2, it says it can't find ref_softx.so. It's right there in the directory with the binary. I copied all the libraries to /lib and /usr/lib and even usr/local/lib, but it won't work. I copied quake2.conf to etc/ and made a symlink to pak0.pak from my DOS
