First, put your debian kernel in /boot. Then change the "other=..." to "image=/boot/yourkernelname". Leave out the table and loader lines. Add root=/dev/sda1 and readonly. run lilo and see if it works. The kernel you place in /boot will have to have the scsi compiled in and you may have to add an append=... to that section.
