possui um grande erro. Fiquei 45min a recompilar o 2.6.4 e no final exibiu uma
mensagem de erro dizendo que não pode criar o imagem porque no nome que dei

I haven't found this in the docs - does make-kpkg create a new initrd
image for me, or do the package scripts do that as part of the install
process, or do I need to do it myself (presumably after installing the
kernel package and before rebooting)?

You mean the section on the --initrd flag? Yes, I read that. It isn't
explicit about whether it creates the initrd image itself, or gets the
install script to do it or whatever.

I'm trying to create a debian kernel package using make-kpkg.
I can compile the kernel without using the debian tool. But since I like
the package system I wanted to create a package of my custom kernel.
But I'm not able to do so. I constantly

stamp-build error2 and it craps out. I have been doing this for years
and never ran into this problem. I can usually find the problem by
checking for warnings in the compiler output. I have not been able to

you remember to modify the top level Makefile (patches
that may work included in /usr/doc/kernel-package/FLAVOUR.gz)? The
--revision only affects the name of the kernel-image, and nothing on
the file system. This limitation (the required patch) is what lead to
the latter append-to-version
