Hello everybody,
Ever since I upgraded my libc6 package, programs can't load libXt.so.6.
I found it on my hard-drive in /usr/X11R6/lib/, so do I need to change a
path variable or something?
Thankyou,

It's not part of the GNU C Library, no. The 6 is the major version
number of the library itself. In this case that corresponds to the 6 in
X11R6, which has nothing to do

I asked because
I need libXt.so.6 to run both netscape and wordperfect. Is there a package
that contains this package? I very much need it.
On another note, what's going on with irc.debian.org? Is it down. It is
usually very helpful in discovering which package a given file is in. Hmmm.
Thanks,

I recently started getting this error, while maintianing an up-tp-date

Hi,
I have a problem that some people have had before. Error message "can't

Which version of Netscape?
If it is libc5 perhaps you need xlib6 from the oldlibs section.

FYI: There are two versions of 4.5 on ftp.netscape.com, one is

I installed Netscape 4.05 by downloading the tarball off the 'Net and then

I just upgraded to hamm, and Netscape will not run, because

xlib6 (not xlib6g). xlib6 is currently not in hamm. It is currently removed
from hamm because it had bugs
Hellow, I have recently ('bout a week now) been successfully upgraded to
hamm... I've upgraded all my packages, and with the exception of a few,
have no programs running off libc5 anymore. My delema being, I have a
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6:

It's still an aout file, therefore you need the xcompat package for the
aout libs.

I think this happened to me a while back. It turned out that
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 was a symbolic link to /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6.0,
and that second file did not exist. Please go look very carefully
A little more info:
It appears that they are correct, however, I deleted the symlink and
reinstalled. Still no luck because I get the same error. I also just
checked ldconfig -v and it shows that it sees libXt.so.6:
/usr/X11R6/lib:
libXm.so.0 = libXm.so.0.76
libMrm.so.0
