Does anyone know what speed cdrom's are supported? I have an A3000
with 132MB of memory that I'm trying to install with v3r1. I get
partially through the installation program when I have a 2x SCSI cdrom
attached, but then it hangs because the apparently it can't read the
cd anymore :-(

Yep, an NCR5380-based SCSI card. Linux has a driver for this
Would be glad to do so...
But I could use some hint, how to do this. No problem spending some
time on it. But I'm not really sure where to start from.

It has several PALs on it which's programming won't be easy to figure
out. However there is a bigger IC made by AMD on it, which reads as
"AM5380PC".

up on dselect and rebooted, then mounted the debian CD and discovered
that my system sees all the folders on it as just plain text files.

It seems I do indeed also have an issue with mounting the CD. Dselect
asks me for the name of a block device. Since I cannot find that term
with the 'dmesg' command. You
should edit /etc/fstab and put an entry like this:

Depending on your m68k, your CD interface may be something entirely
different (scsi?) or it may need a special module.. Look at the boot
messages

uses scsi devices only. Scsi devices would be named /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, etc.
On your system you would need to know how many scsi devices are installed on
your scsi controller (I believe your machine is likely to only have one scsi

The readme in the m68k disks says root.bin doesn't work for amiga. I
suppose that means it works for atari. I suggest you write to
debian-68k@lists.debian.org and ask the developers there how to get
bootstrapped.
