This is probably the wrong list, but in Netscape 4.7, how does one get
working Netscape applications? Are they not supported on Alpha version

product? It seems that other platforms (VMS, Win, c) all one does is
update the Netscape
With lilo I can use map-drive to remap bios drives and boot Dos/Win on my
second hd. This can be done with grub? I have'nt found anything about this

iirc, fortify must be pointed to the executable file 'netscape' whose
location may vary. to find out i use always
locate Netscape.ad

to install/run netscape 4.7 from the downloaded tar.gz file you don't need
any of the Debian netscape packages. Here are the steps I did to install
it on my machine:
1. copy the netscape 4.7 tar.gz file to /tmp
2. unpack the file: cd /tmp; tar xvzf netscape 4.7 tar.gz
3. change

I consider all libc6 versions of netscape broken.
It runs reasonably stable with:
- the libc5 version and the old
Now NS 4.7 is a different matter. Whether its any good, depends on who
you ask. :-) For some it has problems, including crashing, but for
others it works like a charm. Personally (Communicator 4.7), its never
crashed on me, and seems to be better than previous versions, but YMMV.

Usually netscape asks which directory you want it to download to. Just choose
