HI.. I had a similar problem where if I lost my link to the cable modem, I would restart /etc/init.d/networking and I wouldn't receive an IP from my ISP. I checked my syslogs like and sure enough, I my eth0 dhcp requesting a packet was being denied. So, I just stopped my firewall rules. then re
