still require it such as weather.gov.

youtube and tried a video. Worked perfectly. So knew it was a plug-in.

It looks like you have missing some codecs or libs. Try installing these:
sudo apt-get install libavcodec57 libavcodec-extra57 va-driver-all
vdpau-va-driver
Did you tried or have installed adobe flash player plugin?
Also, tell me about your hardware.
