I've been using Debian with my desktop replacement laptop HP Pavilion
zv5260 for about 2 years now. This was the only computer I had for about
2.5 years. I got tired of using the laptop constantly. I want something
more convenient with a bigger screen and that I can use more
comfortably.
I installed debian from the live knoppix CD it's version 5.1. It works
great, but I do have trouble when I try to run any thing that needs
administrator privileges. When I click on something say to configure my
printer I get this message "Su returned with an error". If someone know what

each users /home? It seems alot of programs only will look at files
under various folders in the file system and not look at network

Running up-to-date Etch.
Over time, xorg takes up more and more memory.
I have two computers:
rocky: PII-233 with 64 MB ram running i386
titan: Athlon64 with 1 GB ram running amd64
On my i386, I only have 64 MB of ram so I can only run X for about 45
m
Is there anyway to get K3b to allow you to write files to the CD from a
network drive? In order to burn any files to a cd I first have to copy
them to my local drive then copy them over. Any ideas or help?

oops. The new problem was self-made. While debugging, I've added
"noauto" to the fstab options.
Everything is fine now. And a few things in etch are rather cool, namely
a working hibernate-disk and a much better support for my wireless lan
card.
