Acceleració 3D amb ATI Radeon 9200 SE

2010-01-04 Thread Utopic

:
(...) /bin/cat cannot execute binary file.
també li falla: cp , rm, chmod,.. (mateix missatge)
Funcionen bé.:ls, ps, mkdir, chown, mount ,. ssh (si pot entrar).
ifort,be

Gràcies a tots.

Salut

JM Grifoll

 Bonjour,

CD, j'obtiens ceci:

Sense Code: 0x73 Qual 0x03 (power calibration area error) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
wodim: OPC failed.

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=549094

failed to store into mailbox 'Archives.R-AOk-seaux': Mailbox doesn't
exist: Archives.R-AOk-seaux

comportement inattendu commande bash

2010-01-04 Thread j.seq

fichier .sh

#!/bin/bash
# Name: modprobe-scanner-detect.sh
# Script to rescan SCSI bus, using the
# modprobe aic7xxx method

gksu -u root modprobe -r aic7xxx wait
gksu -u root modprobe aic7xxx wait
xsane snapscan:/dev/sg2

Cordialement,

[OT] Shorewall+Interfaces Virtual

2010-01-04 Thread Sergio
Hola a t...@s,

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:13:72:4B:68:1F

  inet addr:213.x.x.22 Bcast:213.x.x.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:13:72:4B:68:20

  inet addr:192.168.100.220 Bcast:192.168.100.255
Mask:255.255.255.0

Mi configuración shorewall:

interfaces

lan eth1detect

dmz eth2detect

zones:

lan LAN local_area_network

dmz DMZ demilitarized_zone

wan NET internet

masq:

eth110.10.10.0/24

eth1192.168.0.0/16

rules (entre otras muchas):

ACCEPT fw lan tcp 80

REDIRECTdmz 3128tcp www -

##Servicios activo para red local

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp pop3-

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp smtp-

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp 995 -

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp 465 -

ACCEPT dmz all tcp http-

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp https -

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp ftp -

ACCEPT dmz fw tcp ftp -

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp ftp-data -

ACCEPT dmz fw tcp ftp-data -

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp nntp-

ACCEPT dmz lan tcp imap-

http://www.shorewall.net/Shorewall_and_Aliased_Interfaces.html

Crear el interfaz virtual:

up ip addr add 213.x.x.23/24 brd 213.x.x.255 dev eth1 label eth1:1 (esto
funciona correctamente).

Mi servidor Web local es el siguiente: 192.168.1.1

Seria esto…

eth1:1 192.168.1.1 213.x.x.23

Aun me hace

gestionar y recomendar multiples particiones.

sda1Primaria Desconocido (27) 16106.13*
sda2 Inicio Primaria NTFS 104.86*
sda3Primaria NTFS [] 42014.73*
sda5Lógica Linux ext35000.98
sda6Lógica Linux ext3 10001.95
sda7Lógica Linux swap / Solaris 2796.60
sda8Lógica Linux ext3 74002.85
sda9Lógica W95 FAT3210010.17

(hd1,4)
y cambienla por
(hd0,4)

tambien
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-686 root=/dev/sdb5 ro

escuta e escuta bem eles rodando.
No exato instante que eu reinicio a mauqina e entra no windows 7, eles param
de ventilar como estavam no linux. O Barulho fica bem confortavel.

The various expansions done by the shell and the order they are done in is

Opera is 'free' as in 'free to use'. So, no need to register, pay, or
view adds; you can also request features, report bugs, etc.; you just
don't have direct access to the source. Otherwise, it is fairly robust
nowadays on Linux (possibly no crashes for weeks or so) and by default
contains a steady number of features for every-day browsing.
Personally I'm using the qt4 build [1].
[1] http://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/1010/final/en/

Another possibility is Midori (already mentioned). It is still in its
early ages, but in heavy development and gets more robust with every
release. It is open-source, extension-able, has an active community
and is affiliated with Xfce (although is itself desktop-independent).

screen. If I reboot with the old kernel, kde auto-logins the user fine.
The problem is reproduced: Booting with the new kernel always gives me
the kdm login screen. Booting with the old one, it works.

Any ideas how could I investigate something like this?
I noticed with a self-compiled 2.6.32 that when I log in with kdm, I
always have to login twice. After the first password the screen flickers
and then I end up with the same kdm login screen again. Then, logging in
proceeds fine. My self compiled 2.6.31.9 does not have any problems.
Anyway, probably it's a kernel bug, which now I am not alone is
worthwhile to report. Check /var/log/auth.log for any errors. Currently,
I cannot check anything as I don't have my laptop with the proper kernel
available.
If you report the bug, please post the bug report number. I will then
add my info, as that might help the maintainers/kernel devs to faster
sort out the problem.

Case Preservation

2010-01-04 Thread RogerV

I've copied the contents of the ./htdocs directory from Apache Web Server
running on Windows XP to a FAT32 formatted USB stick, and then copied from
the USB Stick to the htdocs directory of an Apache Web Server running under
Debian Lenny. The copy process has changed the case of some of the document
names, which means that the Debian web server can't find the links. It seems
to happen, primarily where the document name is in the format A99.html -
it's a leading capital in Windows and has been restored as a lowercase alpha
character. When I view the contents of the USB stick in Windows I see the
upper case leading character, but when I view the stick with Nautilus - I
see the lower case leading character. Any suggestions?

Yes.

If using GNOME, open gconf editor and navigate to:

/system/storage/default_options/vfat/mount_options

Instead shortname=lower change that value to something that fits your
needs, such shortname=mixed or shortname=winnt. That will preserve
the case in filenames.

man mount should list all the available values.

Installing Debian over a Fedora 12 system

Hi,
I've a Fedora 12 system which I'm distinctly unimpressed by, and want to
install Debian. It's currently set up with two 1 tb drives. These both
have a 250 Mb boot partition and then the rest is a RAID 1, hosting LVM
for the other partitions. Am I going to have to back up all of my data
in home (separate partition) and start a new structure or is there a
simple way of installing debian and have it recognise the existing
structure? The partitions are all EXT4 except boot which is EXT3.

Thank you for any advice. I'll probably back up home to be on the safe
side anyway!

As an alternative, set up sudo and run

I hope this helps.

You can just reuse your current partitioning scheme, and only reformat
/usr, /tmp, /var, /etc and /boot. /home will not be touched. You can
even tell the installer about which partition is your /home, so it can
set up /etc/fstab for you.
If you have /etc,/usr,/var or /tmp not on a separate partition, you can
use a live disk to mount the root partition and just remove them
beforehand. That way you can avoid that any file from fedora will be
present after your new install.

Thank you for any advice. I'll probably back up home to be on the safe

That of course always a good idea ;)

The difference between safe-upgrade and full-upgrade is that the
latter may *remove* packages in order to upgrade other packages. Both
operations might install new packages in order to satisfy the new
dependencies of already installed packages. If you don't want that to
happen, you can pass the switch --no-new-installs.

Most probably your problem has something to do how Recommende/Suggests

Maybe, but why didn't apt-get upgrade do the same thing? On Etch,
aptitude upgrade and apt-get upgrade always did the same thing. Has
something important changed about default (upgrade-only) dependency

I don't know about network support, but to run kvm you have to add your
user to the kvm group. Unfortunately, I don't recall anymore if that
gets set up automagically when you apt-get kvm, or you have to do it
manually ...

[Hint] Antialiasing fonts for tcl/tk applications

2010-01-04 Thread Rob Gom
Hi there,
posting in case not everybody knows. Previously fonts in Tk
applications were ... let's say, ugly (not antialiased). It appears
that it's changed - on tk8.5 they look much better (antialiasing is
enabled).
In order to take advantage of that, one has to:
1. change wish alternative (update-alternatives --config wish) to
wish8.5 (install beforehand)
2. set appropriate (ttf? in my case verdana) font in your application
config files
3. fix remaining issues

Currently I use tkcvs, which is much better than before and gpsman, in
which I had to change manually wish8.x invocations to wish (bug report
filled, although no maintainer reaction).

You can drop a comment if you wish, I just wanted to share my little tip.

Regards,
Robert

Some filesystem full or near full? Using a filesystem that doesn't support
all the POSIX timestamps?

Hello,

I have the same problem. It appeared just after upgrading libc6 from 2.10.2-2
to 2.10.2-3. Looking at the eglibc Changelog may help (but I didn't find
anything).

I tried to find the reason, and it seems to come from touch. Touch now works
for me only for files, but not for folders:

$ ls -l
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 2 user users 4096 jan. 4 17:22 test_directory
-rw-r--r-- 1 user users0 jan. 4 17:22 test_file

$touch test_file
$touch test_directory
touch: setting times of `test_directory': Bad file descriptor

tar uses touch and fails, dpkg uses tar and apt-get uses dpkg, so apt-get
fails :). Other programs using touch on folders (such as postfix) fail to
start too.

A small quick and dirty hack is to use the --touch option for tar. You can do
this with $export TAR_OPTIONS='--touch'. After this, tar seems to work,
postfix starts again. Unfortunately, dpkg does not use $TAR_OPTIONS (as said
in bug #530860) and I didn't find a solution to pass an option to tar in dpkg.

My filesystem is ext3, my partition is not full. It worked well with
libc6-2.10.2-2. I have quite an old kernel (2.6.21.1 modified by my hosting
provider).

Without tar/dpkg/apt-get, it seems quite difficult to downgrade libc6 to
2.10.2-2. If someone had an idea, that would be *great* news.

Thanks,

exec /bin/tar --touch $@

My filesystem is ext3, my partition is not full. It worked well with

Such old kernels are probably not well tested by the eglibc developers.

Without tar/dpkg/apt-get, it seems quite difficult to downgrade libc6 to

If the trick suggested above does not work, you could use ar and tar
directly to extract /lib/libc-2.10.2.so from the libc6 2.10.2-2 .deb.

Squeeze is Debian's testing distro, thus it gets lots of updates
although not as much as Sid the unstable one.

Lenny on the other hand is the stable distro, which ideally should not
get a single update. Unless of course when there's the need to address
security vulnerabilities.

So, basically the answer is yes, Squeeze will update a lot more than
Lenny.

read command not reading from pipe. why?

2010-01-04 Thread Foss User
I see that the read command stores input entered only on the console
into the variables. Example:

$ read a
foo
$ echo $a
foo

But when I don't enter input on the console by keyboard, but pipe it
into the standard input of read, I am unable to store the input into
the variable.

$ echo bar | read a
$ echo $a
foo

However, the help of read says this:

$ help read
read: read [-ers] [-a array] [-d delim] [-i text] [-n nchars] [-p
prompt] [-t timeout] [-u fd] [name ...]
Read a line from the standard input and split it into fields.

So, why is it not reading the line from standard input when input is
passed to it using a pipe?

a SVN update system geared to Debian releases. I am not sure if this is
the best way (I've been looking a tutorials) and if it is the best way
how to set up, access, and manage this whole subversion and websvn thing.

The latest Debian is not distributed in subversion.

Debian is binary based distribution and its source are not in a
single uniform VCS. (We use VCS but distribution of source is basically
through tar.gz like format only as the SATNDARD method on our archive.
See http://wiki.debian.org/Alioth for our VCS usage.)

Each source package comes with debian/control file and it contains VCS
infprmation if available. Some are git, svn, cvs, bzr, hg
(I see more Debian packages using git these days.)

If you have such good internat connection to download so much, why
bother? Just use first netinst CD to install system. You can have
access to required source package and copy by using apt-get source ... after
setting deb-src line.

If you just need readonly VCS access, it may be listed on PTS:
 http://packages.qa.debian.org/common/index.html

Upstream VCS info maybe in debian/copyright file etc.

I think it is time for you to read few basic documents on Debian.

As first time Debian user:
Installing Debian GNU/Linux via the Internet:
  http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst
Debian GNU/Linux FAQ
  http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-faq/
Debian Reference (Especially package related section)
  http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/index.en.html

If you want to Develop, you also need to read Developer info listed:
  http://www.debian.org/doc/

2. Closer to the software development issue I installed Anjuta ...

There is no single method. Some use emacs, some use vim, and some use
IDE such as Anjuta. This is not Debian issue. You need to read manual
of each system.

As a novice learning program on Debian or Linix in general, just use
default gcc on your system. Using other compilers are advanced topic.

Osamu

PS: I am no good programmer but almost all good programers seem to use
emacs or vim as main tool while using IDE for some GUI program
generation.

Osamu:

First, thank you for taking the time to respond.

You seem to agree that the package approach to development is almost universally utilized by every distribution including Debian. Most distributions including Debian have a GUI for the purpose of installing some application and that GUI resolves the application and all associated dependencies. Also, every distribution has some kind of package that responds to various installation commands such as the Debian apt-get command.

The Debian apt-get program uses a database to find out how to install packages requested by the user. To update the database list, you would use the command apt-get update. And so on. Ubuntu for example has a GUI called Synaptic which is an interface that interacts with the user to install and update packages in a transparent manner. Point to be made here is that package manipulation is the way of developing and not some other way. So if you or I were to modify or create a new application within the Linux community the most common Linux approach of packaging would be utilized whether it be Red Hat, SuSE, Ubuntu, etc., where each distribution has it's own package format and package commands and package content and cross dependencies. It was not always that way but good ideas often get snatched up by others. So in this context I can see some people not wanting to encumber themselves with an IDE. You mentioned EMACS which in it's own right is an IDE. I am not very proficient in EMACS but hope to become more knowledgeable as time goes on. EMACS is first an EDITOR. Without an editor it is hard to have an IDE. IDE stands for integrated Development Environment. Thus the provision for numbered lines and a great variety of features can come into play if one knows how. Most IDEs allow for the integration of one or more EDITORS. Most IDEs utilize a CONSOLE which is like a shell in that it understands certain commands and allows for the interaction with the editor in which the source code is layed out and also allows for commands for compilation and debugging, etc. Apparently a lot of the GNU developers utilize a IDE and yes they do favor EMACS because of it's powerful features.

another example:
