Quel backend choisir pour le LDAP?
Je suis sur un projet de migration de serveurs LDAP. Des vieux coucou en fedora core 2 et 5 avec une database ldbm vers du Lenny. Je suis en train de faire la migration de la première machine. Et j'ai lu sur http://linagora.org/contrib/annuaires/documentations/openldap_guide_installation Qu'il valait mieux utiliser hdb. Est ce que quelqu'un sait quelque chose à ce sujet? [HS ?] archive 7z endommagée
Bonjour, Suite à une mauvaise manip, j'ai une archive 7z qui se retrouve corrompue. J'ai voulu en fait ajouter de manière graphique, dans Gnome, un fichier distant via une connexion sftp. Mais là n'est pas la question... Le problème c'est qu'elle contenait pas mal de fichiers que je voudrais récupérer (évidemment pas de sauvegarde...). Mais impossible de lister son contenu ou de l'extraire même en console. Y a-t-il un moyen sous Debian d'essayer de récupérer au moins une partie de cette archive ? Je n'ai rien trouvé sur le web à part pour win ou pour zip, rar... Elle est souvent à la bourre au niveau des versions (3.5.2 alors que la 3.6 est sortie depuis 8 mois) et souvent instable ! Il ne semble pas y avoir de vrai effort de packaging... L'archive présente sur eclipse.org se décompresse toute seule et fonctionne sans effort pour peu qu'une JVM openJDK ou Sun/Oracle soient installée ! Mes 2 cents ! glpi/ocsiventory-server soucis avec dbconfig-common

J'ai des soucis pour installer glpi et ocsinventory-server,
que cela soit sur ubuntu 10.10 ou lenny (chacune dans un container
openvz, je ne pense pas que cette information soit significative pour
mon problème).
en effet, en post installation debconf passe par dbconfig-common pour
l'accès à la base de données, je remplis les champs (un peu rapidement,
je me trompe sur l'adresse ip du server (192.168.1.203 au lieu de
192.168.1.204)
je me dit pas grave, un coup de dpkg-reconfigure dbconfig-common est ce
sera bon. Effectivement l'assistant me demande l'adresse ip du serveur,
je corrige avec la bonne ip (192.168.1.204 pour ceux qui n'auraient
pas suivi :-D ).
La modification n'est pas prise en compte ! l'accès reste toujours sur
l'adresse ip erronée (192.168.1.203)

En particular mis dudas se refieren al hecho de que generalmente todo paquete coloca sus archivos de configuración en el directorio /etc, de allí surge la pregunta ¿hay que colocar todo el directorio dentro del repositorio? o solo los sub-directorios que me interesan; ¿que pasa entonces con los nuevos paquetes? ¿cómo se agregan sus archivos (ficheros)? Como ven soy nuevo totalmente en el tema. Concretamente, ¿Puede alguien indicarme alguna documentación que pudiera ayudarme? Para esta tarea específica ¿que paquete específico me recomiendan, cvs, svn, git? Por supuesto que agradecería profundamiente si alguien pudiera compartir sus experiencias en este tema. Saludos. Juan Hola. Primero decir que no se si habrá por ahí otras soluciones mejores, pero a mi en su momento se me ocurrio que podía usarlo para esto. Yo utilizo subversion como sistema de control de versiones, además utilizo un cliente gráfico (rapidsvn) para mas comodidad. (Es necesario trabajar como root para tener acceso a los ficheros de /etc) Yo lo mantengo de forma manual, añado al repositorio los ficheros y directorios que me interesa controlar, pero sería bastante fácil automatizar y meter todo /etc bajo svn y ponerlo en el crontab. (No va a suponer problema de espacio, porque /etc no ocupa demasiado y los sistemas de control de versiones solo van incrementando las diferencias cuando un fichero cambia.) Tendrás que estudiar un poco, hay buena documentacion sobre svn, pero son muchas opciones y lleva algo de tiempo. (Practica antes con algún directorio de pruba...) En el repositorio puedes meter todo /etc o solo los ficheros y directorios que quieras. Si lo automatizas cuando metas un paquete nuevo tendras que buscar la orden para que te lo añada, pero creo que no es difícil. Luego un svn commit que hará que todos los que se hayan modificado se actualicen en el repositorio. Añadir directorios y ficheros a svn es muy fácil, si lo haces desde le interfaz gráfica es tan simple como ponerte sobre un directorio, boton derecho add, boton derecho commit. Por otra parte mas quizá sea mas útil usar #include include/module.h que usa rutas relativas al cwd y ubicar todo lo relacionado con tu módulo en su propio directorio. Y en último lugar ¿Cómo estas escribiendo un módulo del kernel si acabas de iniciarte en linux? Porque no usarlo? simplemente porque podes crear un alias y al poner en consola el nombre del server, puede hacer la conexion directamente. Ni siquiera necesitas tener el código fuente del kernel, sólo las
cabeceras. Por ejemplo, yo tengo instalado el paquete
linux-headers-2.6.32-5-amd64, que es el que se corresponde con mi
versión de kernel y arquitectura. Para compilar, sólo tienes que
especificar en qué directorio están las cabeceras (puedes utilizar dpkg
-L para averiguarlo, pero es generalmente bajo el directorio /usr/src/):
$ make KERNELDIR=/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-5-amd64/

[OT] Streaming video relay server.
Saludos a todos y gracias por anticipado. Estamos configurando un servicio de streaming en vivo y de archivos en el que un equipo fuente pueda transmitir a otro servidor al que se conectarían los usuarios para ver el evento o grabación. Hemos revisado varios programas servidores como icecast2 y ffserver, así como algunos programas fuentes como vlc y ffmpeg. La intención es que tanto usuarios de linux como ms guindows y mac puedan visualizar via página web el evento/grabación. En este sentido, conseguimos interesante el flowplayer. El streaming de audio como para una radio no es problema. El reto viene con video streaming ya que existen varios contenedores, codecs de audio y video. Hemos visto que podríamos configurar la escena utilizando solamente vlc tanto en el cliente como en el servidor. Pero nos gustaría dejar el servidor configurado permanentemente para que reciba streams fuentes de los hosts de una subred específica y que el resto de los usuarios se conecten a este. Incluso, este servidor podría ser fuente de otro servidor repetidor en otra localidad. Alguien ha tenido alguna experiencia similar?: varias fuentes, servidores de streams de video en modo relay y usuarios con diversos sistemas operativos. la infraestructura estaría basada en debian squeeze. DHCP weirdness? broken?
Hi, I am having serious troubles with dhcp. The resolv.conf file is being continuosly overwritten by some program/daemon I can't guess. I tried the supersede/prepend directives in dhclient.conf with no success, the same with the dhclient-script hooks I tried using network-manager connections to get rid of dhcp client settings. I have removed dhcp* packages and reinstalled again from scratch and as a result the /etc/dhcp3/ directory is not there anymore. I really can't figure out what to do. Any suggestion? Thanks all for your comments and advice. After having done a bunch of research and everywhere it says that debian was NOT built to be booted off of an NFS server and it's supposed to use HTTP. After fighting it a little bit, I decied to quickly install a light-weight HTTP server (nginx). Now, I figured everything will go smooth, but here we are: For some reason, when I go through the install and during the screen of picking a mirror, I choose configure Manually and enter the name:port of the HTTP as well the location. I also see the installation process pick up the Release file from the HTTP server successfully: *10.1.3.11 - - [03/Feb/2011:11:10:53 +] GET /debian/dists/lenny/Release HTTP/1.1 200 912 - Wget -* But for some reason, it still comes back saying that it's a Bad Archive Mirror and that it may not have aValid Release file. Does anyone know how to fix this or know what's wrong? I can't remember what package caused the problem, but I do remember that there wasn't some obscure configuration option to change, I just had to remove a package. Maybe it was resolvconf? I really need to see initramfs debug output, i.e. the shell traces when you pass the debug option on the kernel boot line and then obtain the file from /dev/.initramfs or whatever the location was according to the wiki; I am offline right now and cannot check. Also, what version of mdadm are you using? Which package? Debian Squeeze. Both the mdadm binary in the 2.6.32-5 and in the /sbin/ directory of the root array report 3.1.2, which is the version supported in the distro. Squeeze has had 3.1.4-something for several months. I suggest you upgrade. Bingo! That did it. I don't know what the system did not like about 3.1.2, but now booting under the old kernel brings up md0 properly, and booting under the new kernel works. Problem determining a PID with ps
Hi,
In a bash script, I ran into a problem using ps. It seems to me, that it
takes some time before a newly created process is detected by ps.
Here is what I do: In a bash script, I start a programm using su,
something like
nice su myuser -c mycommand
SUPID=$!
Because I might have to later send a signal to the mycommand process
later, I then try to determine ist PID:
CMDPID=$(ps -f --ppid $SUPID -C mycommand | awk 'NR == 2 { print $2 }')
To my surprise, CMDPID often was empty. I wrapped the above line into a
loop and found that it might take 2 or 3 attempts until ps finds the
process and CMDPID is set.
Now, here are my questions:
- Is this a pure timing issue, i.e. should 'sleep 1' before the call to
ps reliably solve the problem?
- Is there a better way to determine the PID of the mycommand process?
