Cela me donne une courbe.

VirtualHost *:80
   ServerAlias www.servidor
   ServerNameservidor
   ProxyPass http://servidor:puerto/
   Order allow,deny
   Allow from all
/VirtualHost

[ASTERISK-NetA]-[FIREWALL-NetA]-INTERNET---[FIREWALL-NetB][ASTERISK-NetB]

Ahora realizo una prueba desde NetA

Test on net A

root@FIREWAL-NetA# nmap -sU -sV -p4569 public.ip.net.B

Starting Nmap 5.00 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2012-01-03 12:17 GMT

/Test on net A

Sin problema. Sigo con la prueba en NetB

Test in net B

root@FIREWAL-NetB# nmap -sU -sV -p4569 public.ip.net.A

Starting Nmap 5.00 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2012-01-03 12:24 GMT
Interesting ports on public.ip.net.A (1.2.3.4):

Todo responde correctamente. Pero cuando intento realizar un ping al
puerto UDP la cosa Cambia.

Ping From A

round-trip min/avg/max = 0.0/0.0/0.0 ms

/Ping From A

Ping From B
root@FIREWAL-NetB# hping3 public.ip.net.A --udp -V -p 4569
using eth0, addr: 5.6.7.8, MTU: 1500

round-trip min/avg/max = 0.0/0.0/0.0 ms

/Ping From B

saludos.

 ¿Queda ahora más claro?

 Pues no :-)

//no servidor antigo (debian 5.0.1, mysql 5.0.51a)
# mysqldump --add-drop-table -u root -p -x -e -A backup-mysql.sql

//no servidor novo (debian 6.0.3, mysql 5.1.49)
mysql -u root -p backup-mysql.sql

erro:
# /etc/init.d/mysql restart
Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld.
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld.
Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables..
ERROR 1577 (HY000) at line 1: Cannot proceed because system tables used by
Event Scheduler were found damaged at server start
ERROR 1547 (HY000) at line 1: Column count of mysql.proc is wrong. Expected
20, found 16. The table is probably corrupted

importando o banco mysql criado automaticamente durante a instalação?
No MySQL antigo possuo vários usuários cadastrados na tabela user e
preciso importá-los. Alguém sabe como receber esse erro?

Obrigado.

Re: regarding e2fsprogs 1.42

2012-01-03 Thread Joar Jegleim
ok, thanks for your tip .
This is a critical system since it's a backup server :\
I went for xfs when we upgraded the disks, but xfs gave me serious
performance problems. Deleting hardlinks from backing up a mailserver
(~1.6TB maildirs) went from ~5 hours on ext4 to more than 28 hours on
xfs (?)
I've been through kernel 2.6.38 and 2.6.39 and did several performance
adjustments and managed to cut it down to 15 hours or so, but it was
still unacceptable compared to ext4 .

I may try out chroot or I'll simply settle with 16TB partition chunks .

thanks for all the replies .

No hints, sorry. Sounds like a dangerous movement only suitable for a VM
(with a previous saved working snapshot) or over a testing machine.

ACK. Another option might be to debootstrap wheezy into a local
directory and chroot into that. You probably don't need
mkfs/fsck/tune2fs on a daily basis. Just disable automatic fscks on boot
(tune2fs -i0 -c0) to make sure the old fsck doesn't touch the
 filesystem.

I am not sure whether that would work for the root filesystem, but I
guess nobody needs or wants 16TB for that.

And if this was a critical system, I would probably try very hard to
avoid the situation altogether (split the data across multiple
filesystems) or use another distribution with more recent tools.

I try and take the context of the question into account - the idea is to

Despite your myopic fixation, GIMP was *one* of a few I listed that, on

Second, GIMP is a bitmap image tool. Even if you don't want to edit

Also agreed, and I note that gwenview is also not the ultimate viewer of
.eps format images. Though it's probably adequate if the user just
intends to views one image in a Perl manual.

As someone with a passion for proper rendering perhaps you could list
some programs to display .eps files as vector images (with a simple UI
and fast to load).

I don't doubt they exist - I just don't know of any.
Perhaps I'm not the only one ignorant in that area. Most of the Debian
image viewers I'm familiar with - are just viewers - not interpreters,
which is what's required to view .eps as a vector image.
(yeah, as the off-list posters have pointed out - displays and printers
rasterize too, but they know the final resolution)

I'm loathe to suggest people install Scribus/Inkscape, the old Adobe SVG
plugin for their browser, or Xara, just to look at an .eps file.

I don't know about XFCE, Gnome et al, but on a stock KDE there doesn't
seem to be a SVG viewer capable of displaying an .eps as a vector image.

OpenOffice.org Draw will (though it's not strictly a viewer, nor is it a
default package).

Inkscape[*1] and Scribus will - probably moot as to which is better (and
they're not definitely not viewers either[*2].

The OP asked what could open an .eps The question was answered.

Emacs can also open .eps files.

(cute) or, cat, kwrite - etc.

The OP's request was imprecise. The objective was to provide the OP with
a simple solution - not an exercise in pedantic pedantry.
If they'd just wanted a tune to play when email arrived most people are
not going to suggest JACK and a RT kernel.

into xml-File but the appearing menu at boot time:

Press F12 for boot menu. (I pressed F12)

   Select boot device:

   2. Legacy option rom (indeed, same line two times)
   3. CD-ROM [ata1-0: QEMU DVD-ROM ATAPI-4 CD-Rom/DVD-Rom]
   4. virtio-net.zrom 5.4.4. (GPL) ether

But 3. is NOT booting from CD! 1. and 2. not either. But grub is booting with
3.
CD-ROM is ignored. Why?

Using sr0 instead of cdrom results in:

root@squeeze64:~# virsh start suse111
error: failed to get domain 'suse111'
error: Domain not found: no domain with matching name 'suse111'

BTW: I did /etc/init.d/libvirt-bin stop - start before, of course.

Mount of /dev/sr0 or /dev/cdrom to /mnt works, the CD is present
and is readable.

How can I boot a qemu machine with liveCD (system rescue)?
Why? - because of kernel panic

Please help!

Are there other possibilities to boot a qemu-KVM machine by a liveCD?

thx

Re: lenny hosting wheezy chroot

2012-01-03 Thread Osamu Aoki
Hi,

On Mon, Dec 26, 2011 at 11:15:29PM -0800, Ross Boylan wrote:
I am looking for advice on how to run a wheezy chroot from a lenny host,
in particular how to handle dev, udev, and X.

 BACKGROUND

My system is running lenny and I wanted to use python 2.7. I upgraded
debootstrap from backports and then created a wheezy (actually,
testing) chroot with --variant=minbase. After some rough spots (I
needed to bind mount sys and proc, and eventually /dev/pts, and install
a package so debconf could ask questions during the install) thing seem
 to be running.

Now I want to try mythtv in the chroot, which requires X, which I
believe requires /dev to be hooked up properly. The Debian Reference
for lenny provides some instructions about setting up using a different
 virtual terminal

Yes since it worked on earlier days, I wrote it. Maybe, by lenny it may
have been outdated content.

 (the current version does not:
 http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/ch09.en.html#_chroot_system.
The lenny reference suggests running MAKEDEV. Most other sources suggest
mount -bind is the way to go, but some people caution this can lead to
trouble (and there were some Debian bugs
 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=623060_ in this scenario).

Anyway, some X start up codes and other packages had major changes which
made it imossible for me to do this. I then said, heck .. too much
troble. it is much easier using kvm or other newer technology.

In order to avoid false expectation, I removed such contents.

So I do not bother using chroot for X application any more.

Please note we DD always use chroot for building pakcages. so chroot
with bind mounting devices are valid for many situation.

FYI I have a single core P4 without hardware virtualization. This is
one reason I'm trying a chroot and not a VM.

virtualbox is likely good choice.

I also thought a chroot would be simpler :)

If it works :-)

I am not especially concerned about chroot
security, except in the sense that I don't want to inadvertently mess up
the host from inside the chroot.

You can read through scripts such as pbuilder and schroot to see how
people handle some issues. But they usually do not do X.

I think use of or making your own backported package is the way to use
such old box semi-stably.

Osamu

I like this list very much, regardless how immature or low-level my
questions I asked, I always get another windows opened, to let me learn
 something or see something. Thanks.

It's a great resource - provided me with invaluable assistance for more
year than I care to count.

It's very rare to see anyone's questions not get response within a
couple of days (even it if it's do your homework/RTFM). And usually
the person asking will won't be bombed with conflicting advice - all
with moderation, rosters, titles, karma or other childishness. I can't
think of another distro forum/list that can claim that.

Sorry, I don't have a quality understanding about those things. more
about working, less about how does it works or how perfect it's supposed
 to work.

If you had the understanding about those things I guess you'd have no
reason to ask questions ;-p

At last thanks for all provided your ideas and suggestions.

Re: Loss of Xfce DE functionality since testing upgrades to clutter on 12/17

2012-01-03 Thread Gilbert Sullivan
On 12/31/2011 10:59 AM, Gilbert Sullivan wrote:
 Hi,

This is more a matter of general curiosity than something I'm trying
actively to fix. I would, of course, like to correct the problems, but
they are not show-stoppers for me. If the behaviors I'm reporting can be
expected to be corrected at some point by future upgrades I'm content to
 wait.

If, however, I can contribute to development or bug-fixing efforts by
filing or contributing to bug reports I'd be happy to do so. It's just
that I'm clueless in this case as to the appropriate target for such a
 report.

I noticed that apt-listbugs flagged the new version of clutter to which
my systems were upgraded on 12/17/2011 as breaking mesa. The following
 bug report was mentioned.

 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=620908

That bug report, though, doesn't really seem to have much of anything to
do with the issues I've noticed in Xfce since that time. The issues I
 see are:

 1. Compositing in Xfce doesn't work properly. All windows and panels are
surrounded by large-width flat gray shadows, and transparency is broken.
With compositing turned off, everything looks normal for that state.

 2. The Desktop applet in Xfce Settings Manager is unable to change the
desktop background. Instead, only the background selected by
update-alternatives is allowed. Furthermore, choosing none doesn't
 remove that background image.

 3. Right-clicking the desktop doesn't activate Xfce's menu system any
more -- but this failure is something I've seen only on some of my
testing installations, not all of them.

It may be that I don't run many or any applications or drivers that make
use of clutter and mesa in such a way as to cause the types of failures
mentioned in the bug report. I have seen the

 failed to create drawable

error on occasion in a terminal when starting some Mozilla apps
(iceweasel, icedove, iceowl -- IIRC), but that's about the only obvious
thing (to me, a relative beginner in GNU/Linux) my experience shares
 with the bug report.

Would anyone have general comments on this matter that might guide me to
some type of understanding? Are these issues I'm seeing connected to
 that bug report?

I started to just report this to the xfce-b...@xfce.org, x...@xfce.org,
or pkg-xfce-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org, but thought that it obviously
involves non-xfce packages and might be peculiar to Debian testing /
unstable, so that I should try here first.

Thanks for any information you might provide.

 Regards,
 Gilbert

Oh, good grief! Never mind the noise. I posted in the Xfce community and
a kind user there (Forester) reminded me that this was probably just
corruption of the xfce session. Everything is working now.

At least I was smart (???) enough to doubt that this really had anything
to do with the clutter / mesa issue. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to
remember that Xfce seems to get its sessions boggled once-in-a-while by
upgrades. Doh!

Again, sorry for the noise.

kvm -cdrom /dev/sr0

*without* mounting the CD before. Make sure you are root or in the
‘cdrom’ group.

If I fill the field login it does not work, but it works if I do not fill it

I would like to report it, but what package is it?

Not if it's a race condition of some sorts, which is quote possible, see
below.

Since I turned off 'quiet' it
hasn't failed yet...

Mine has, just now, I had to reset, second time I turned the machine off
(holding power switch for 4 seconds), then I disconnected the older IDE
cable (still used here for 2 DVD drives, 1 read-only, 1 writer). Booting
without the IDE devices attached went just fine, although I have yet to
boot a second time, so it might be a coincidence.

It was the messages that lead me to disconnecting the drives, as the
lockup occurs when initializing those drives, or at least after the hard
disks (all SATA). I'm not sure if these are the cause, but my burner has
been acting weird... not immediately opening when told, etc..

I took pictures of both lockups.

I had a hang: blank screen w/o the Loading... message. Waited a few
secs. and hit the reset button.

Okay, so the fact your system powers off the ethernet adapter randomly
is the key of the problem. This should not happen.

As the network interface comes integrated within the motherboard, I would
look for a BIOS update and check if it solves someting related to power

In my experience, if you set the geometry in the initial-frame-alist

This takes a bit of doing.

I have a helper function:

and then do things like:

(setq default-frame-alist

  (mouse-color . white)))
  initial-frame-alist
  (modify-alist initial-frame-alist

to get my configuration as I like it.

I actually test for which window system and how I got started and have

most of Debian users do love the distribution. I think there are

that do provide (or at least facilitate) the installation for such
 closed source drivers.

Sorry, I seem to be expressing myself unclearly.

If one chooses to install the non-free blob and/or driver, it should be
a transparent process, not this bizarre you just have to know to run
 this modprobe command system.

Ah, well... that depends on the install stage you are:

- If you wanted to install the closed source ATI driver at install time
(in the event this is possible which I doubt it), there should no
problems at all because no X server is started and no X driver is already
loaded.

- If you plan to install the fglrx package from Debian's non-free
repositories while radeon module is already loaded (in use), they will
collide and manual action is required from the user:

http://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary#Installation

But this is more a technical issue, no more no less and now that we have
KMS at the kernel side is even more complicated (I don't remember to have
done nothing special in lenny when I installed the closed source nvidia
drivers coming from Debian non-free, just restarted the computer to make
Xorg happy and that was all).

And answering text I removed: no, the script did not tell me anything.

Mmm, because you probably installed the open source radeon driver,
which will automatically perform the required actions in the evnt you had
another vga driver installed (radeonhd). It won't, however, automatically
install the proprietary firmware (firmware-linux-nonfree), even if it is
required to enable 3D acceleration.

I don't think there is permanently solution except rewrite all scripts.

Re: X Window: Setting up mouse scroll for OOo Calc to one raw

 On 03/01/12 04:55, Camaleón wrote:
But the best thing is that there is a patch already done for having the

I haven't re-read the bug report, but my impression was that someone has
written a patch, but it hasn't been accepted, and there was dispute
about it, so there's no guarantee it's going to get in.

The bug report states it is in a review process... but to be sincere, I
don't mind the patch is accepted or not. The important thing (from my
POV, of course) is that it can be done and that's enough (again, for
me) :-)

I don't have the need of increasing the wheel scroll speed, but it would
be nice to have such option, of course. That's something users are
requesting a lot...

It seems to me that if the OP of that bug succeeds, all you'd get is
_more_ lines/rows of scroll, not fewer - it would still need changes
  in the app.
Wheel sroll speed is slow (at least with my basic 3 button mouse I also
barely get 3 lines up/down which can be quite annoying depending on the
document lentgh). But if there is a patch to speed it up, I see no
compeling reason for not having the opposite and make the wheel scrolls
 slowly.

The patch allows for faster scrolling by sending multiple events for
each wheel click. How do you send less than 1 (but more than 0) clicks?

I have not read the patch code but how about by reducing (dividing/
substracting/fractioning operations) the events?

But I'm inclined to agree with the other view, that the mouse wheel
just gives button events, and it's up to the app to interpret them -
  possibly referring to a system-wide (or DE-wide) configuration -
since it clearly means something different depending on the type of
  app.
 I don't share that POV.

IMO, it will be desiderable to be possible to tweak both options: one
(system wide) that affects all applications managed via Xorg's mouse
driver and also having the possibility to control wheel speed for every
application. This will result in a fine grained configuration that will
 suit every user need.

Desirable, perhaps. Feasible, I don't think so.

In the end it seems to be perfectly feasible:

1/ KDE (maybe because of Qt?) users already have such option
2/ There is a generic patch (evdev) for Xorg to implement it

It seems to me the real problem is that the wheel just isn't as fine
-grained as the movement of the mouse - my mouse appears to have 24
clicks/rotation, and it has no way to measure smaller movements than
that. So the only adjustment possible is how far per click, and that
needs to be measured differently depending on whether the app is
(viewed as being) explicitly line based, the way the OP wants to see
their spreadsheet, or effectively continuous. And that's up to both the
app and the user, and changing what happens in the driver can only
reduce the options for those. IMHO.

I don't understand why you think it's something so hard to get.

Look, I have next to me my windows computer with a tree-button mouse (2
buttons+wheel) from the same brand and model I use with lenny and using
the default mouse driver (the one that comes with the OS).

Okay, so I have set there the mouse wheel scrolls down/up 3 lines at a
time (whatever-that-means-for-windows) and when I open a spreadsheet and
I scroll down I jump from raw 1 to raw 3. Fine.

Now I configure the wheel to jump one page at a time (whatever-that-
means-for-windows), go to the same spreadsheet and scrolling down takes
me from raw 1 to raw 64. That's a hughe gain for sheets with thousand of
records.

Yes, yes... windows is windows and linux is linux. I agree. But the
source of this problem shares the same nature (I can be wrong but I don't
think the mouse is treated so differently in both systems, it's a very
basic input device, nothing fancy) :-)

R is router, T is transport. A router determines where to send a
particular email next, a transport is a software means of achieving
that. Routers and transports may be user-defined for individual
domains or even per recipient, which gives enormous flexibility in
shifting mail around.

This entry is only telling you that delivery has been made successfully
to your local smarthost, local.gate.cz. The next step is to find out
what this server has done with the email, which depends on whether the
server is also yours or you have to ask for logs from someone else.

If the latter, quote them time and date and the message ID beginning
1Rhhe.. (basically your second line above). The server will definitely
have a log entry which is the 'other half' of your entry above, showing
this email as being accepted, and the message ID should then appear in
one or more additional server log entries where the server tries to send
the message to the next SMTP server in the path to your recipient.

Generally the SMTP protocol is reliable in the communications sense, in
that it will either deliver the mail or it will tell the sender that it
can't, and why not. If mail is disappearing without error messages being
returned to the sender, an anti-spam system is usually the reason.

Reboot problems? I don't have any of those; sometimes when shutting down

I'm talking uniquely and exclusively about the electrical acpi event

Unfortunately, the server is not mine, and for some reasons, I can't expect
much support. Except when I actually found better solution to the original
problem.

Generally the SMTP protocol is reliable in the communications sense, in
that it will either deliver the mail or it will tell the sender that it
can't, and why not. If mail is disappearing without error messages being

So probably antispam filter is throwing them away. (Because my client is
acting weird... Because I've probably done something silly before, or I'm
trying impossible configuration...)

Thankfully, I have found that using -v (verbose) option for tests gives
me enough insight to communication (about what I expected to find after
disabling TLS).

And the lines I like the least are:

  SMTP EHLO gebba.aloism.test.local
  ...
  SMTP MAIL FROM:alo...@gebba.aloism.test.local SIZE=1467
AUTH=alo...@gebba.aloism.test.local

  ...

It seems that exm4 does not rewrite addresses as I wish according to
/etc/exim4/email-addresses:

  aloism@localhost: correct.sen...@mydomain.cz
  alo...@gebba.aloism.test.local: correct.sen...@mydomain.cz
  aloism@gebba: correct.sen...@mydomain.cz
  aloism: correct.sen...@mydomain.cz

Neither of these lines work. But manual says:

(sender addresses) ...are rewritten for users that appear to be in
  the local domain...

and my domain (in resov.conf) is different from gebba.aloism.test.local.
Might this be the cause? That alo...@gebba.aloism.test.local does not
appear to be in local domain?

Hi all,

Finally Janek pointed me in the right direction: nictools-pci package
and the pci-config command

I tried the pre-down directive in the /etc/network/interfaces and it
worked ok but the second or third time I rebooted my PC it got frozen
so I started to search the internet and I found a web [1] explaining
how to use the pci-config

I've make it work using the following procedure:

lspci -nn |grep -i Ether

02:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller [10ec:8168] (rev
01)
^^ The 2 digit at the beginning of the line means the pci bus (As
explained by Janek)
 ^ ^ this is the vendor:model number

Then:

pci-config -B 2
pci-config.c:v2.05 2/23/2005 Donald Becker (bec...@scyld.com)
 http://www.scyld.com/diag/index.html
Device #1 at bus 2 device/function 0/0, 816810ec.
 ^-^ this
is tne model:vendor number the same as before BUT in different order

Now I know the BUS number (2) and device number (#1)

So I can use the pci-config to put the NIC in the proper state for WOL:

pci-config -B 2 -# 1 -S

Instead of using the pre-down directive in the /etc/network/interfaces
I choose the /etc/init.d/halt script as written in [1] and added the
following lines just before halt -d -f $netdown $poweroff $hddown

[...]
### http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2012/01/msg00182.html
### http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-951563.html
rmmod r8168
sleep 0.5
modprobe r8168
sleep 0.5
pci-config -B 2 -# 1 -S
sleep 0.5

log_action_msg Will now halt
halt -d -f $netdown $poweroff $hddown
[...]

I have restarted my PC at least 10 times and it works without problem.

Thank you guys for your time!!

Well, now I'm confused. I might have a reboot problem and not know
about it in the sense that I hardly ever reboot (I think the only linux
reboot that was ever required of me in the course of my usage of the OS
was after a kernel update).

Now you say rebooting requires and entails the exact same electrical

powers off the machine, and then turns it back on again immediately,
whereas a shutdown/poweroff simply powers the machine off?

I'm talking soft reboot here, shutdown -r now.

You must surely be talking hard reboot? I turn off my machine once a day, at
night. There have been no problems turning it back on again, no hangs on
rebooting (hard).

Sorry for leading you down this trail of confusion.

that what you said your problem was too? If not then sorry for the
