SYSFS(idProduct)==USB Axiome OMR 9xx VCP, SYSFS(idVendor)==0403,

options ftdi_sio vendor=0x0403 product=0xEFE0
puis tu fais un update-initramfs -k all -u

Solution retenue:
---

/etc/modprobe.d/AUDIO.conf:
## AUDIO: Force MB audio in #0
alias snd-slot-0 snd-atiixp
alias snd-card-0 snd-atiixp
## TV in #1
alias snd-slot-1 cx88-alsa
alias snd-card-1 cx88-alsa
options cx88-alsa index=1
###
## CAUTION: MPU-401-UART == #2 (always)
###
## WC in #3
alias snd-slot-1 snd-usb-audio
alias snd-card-1 snd-usb-audio
options snd-usb-audio enable=1 index=3
## /AUDIO

Solution de monitoring, vi mais laquelle?

2012-06-19 Thread Bzzz
Salut liste,

Buenas a tod@s.

cliente thunderbir utilizo la etiqueta reply-to, aparece correctamente

cliente la etiqueta reply-to) y no aparece la etiquete reply-to. Como
puedo añadir a todos los correos que el reply-to sea el from original?

Eje:

Correo salida:

From--- usuario1@dominio1
To usuario2@dominio2 o usuario2@dominio1

Correo de llegada:

From usuario1@dominio1
envelope-from usuario_utilizado_autenticacion_mta@dominio1
reply-to--- usuario1@dominio1
to usuario2@dominio2 o usuario2@dominio1

tengo claro algunas cosas...

http://pastebin.com/kwkbGCPJ

Saludos!

RE: Tengo problemas con un paquete...

2012-06-19 Thread Martin Edmundo Barriga Orozco

Hola,

destino tenga alguna estructura basica.

-A OUTPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 1024:65535 --dport 80 -m state --state
NEW,RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 80 --dport 1024:65535 -m state --state
RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT

Para eu liberar as rádios on-lines eu tive que fazer:

-A OUTPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 1024:65535 --dport 1024:65535 -m state
--state NEW,RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 1024:65535 --dport 1024:65535 -m state

journaling on EXT3

I would like to enable it.

So I can modify the entry in fstab to read data=journal,
but I am unsure what command is required on the live system

Suggestions would be appreciated.

so you have ext2? ext3 is exactly like ext2 with journal added

first google result for convert ext2 to ext3

basically, this is the line to add journal to a ext2 filesystem:

Is it only failing for a specific set of filenames (OOo)?

If so, there has to be a file at /etc/bash_completion.d/ooffice.sh for
that purpose, installed by openoffice.org-common package.

Otherwise, if completion is not working at all, chances are that during
upgrade your /etc/bash.bashrc was overwritten/changed so that the
completion part was commented out (I think that is the default on
vanilla installs?).

Have a look at /etc/bash.bashrc and search for a comment:

# enable bash completion in interactive shells

and uncomment the lines just after it.

Hope this helps,

clamav probably will help along with clamav-milter to filter e-mail.
Lastly, nmh installed for everybody to use because you get out of mbox
format with that. If clamav finds a virus in someone's mbox file and
quarrantines that whole file they just lost all of their email. However
nmh puts each message in its own file and if clamav quarrantines those
files the user doesn't loose access to all of their e-mail just the

Re: journaling on EXT3

2012-06-19 Thread Jochen Spieker
Jim Pazarena:

I have an EXT3 which is not journaled.
I would like to enable it.

You appear to be a little bit confused. Ext3 is always journalled. Ext3
without a journal is ext2. By default, ext3 only writes filesystem
metadata to the journal, not file content. If you want to trade
performance for data integrity, use this:

So I can modify the entry in fstab to read data=journal,
but I am unsure what command is required on the live system
to 'convert' the EXT3 to journaling.

You can try to remount the filesystem with this option, but I don't know
whether that actually works:

mount -o remount,data=journal /dev/sdX1

If it doesn't, you have to umount/mount (or reboot for /).

I agree with you that it's good that Debian doesn't constrain my
solution space. What threw me (although I can't speak for the OP)
was my expectation from other web related packages that there would be
something like http://localhost//wordpress/; ready and waiting for me
to customise. Yes, it's easy to add but when someone is unfamiliar with
an application, the easier the better. (/wordpress/ is clearly not the
best of choices for a production installation, but who in their right
mind would install Wordpress - or any other complex application for
that matter - into a production instance without having first learned
at least something about it?)

Most web applications I install from upstream sources [...]
I just install them where I want them somewhere in the webroot
 (/var/www/somesubdir).

I tend to install under /home/www/vHost/docroot/ rather than under
/var/www, as it means I get to keep my log files near my vHosts (/logs
instead of /docroot) and I can transfer the vHost in its entirely fairly
cleanly to another host. Re upstream sources vs Debian, I tend to prefer
the Debian approach as it fits with my system(s) cleanly. But there is
always a place for a vanilla upstream install. I run Debian's Apache,
MySQL, Perl, and PHP for instance, as they work. But I customise the
Apache configuration within individual vHosts quite heavily.

I always run Stable on servers, and packages can end up two years old,

Likewise, except I often add backports for newer features that I really
want.

It's funny, I stick with stable for the server os, but run apps on the
bleeding development edge from git repos all the time, now.

Not really. One just hurts if it breaks, and the other is potentially
professional stupidity. You have restorable backups, of course...?

Thanks for the tips

* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=670687
* http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=667068

I would like to release this perhaps this time tomorrow. Would you mind
testing the 3 commands: NEW, DETAILNEW, and DESCRIBENEW commands.
Otherwise, just use as usual and see if there's anything else that can
be fixed before release. Me hopes this version becomes part of Wheezy

For instructions, run 'wajig readme wajig'.

What values are you exactly referring to? Each program/service has their

It would be very hand to have an animated map that would allow the

From the command line? From a GUI? From where? Some GUIs do provide extra

I have not been able to keep all the relationships in my head, such a

Is there such a thing or some other solution to managing configuration?

There are various cheet sheet for specific issues (networking commands,

Well, that's what LiveCDs and USB sticks with a running system are
aimed for, to be a lifesaver when your main system cannot boot or is
 completely hosed.

 Yes, I'm flaunting a prejudice.

Also a spare Debian system could be kept with a policy of never monkey
with it and with the primary system at the same time. Older laptops

Agree.

netinst on old dell hardware

2012-06-19 Thread Paul E Condon
I purchased a dell desktop pc recently intending to
use it as a untility server for things like backup
and print serving, and I am having trouble installing
Debian on it. I've been using Debian since Potato was
new, so I didn't expect difficult problems. I want to
install wheezy, since daily backup and print are services
that if they break don't cut be off from getting help
from this list, which I know that I need on a frequent
basis.

But I am already in need of help:

The Squeeze netinstall CD that I have used for several previous
installs on other hardware won't work on this hardware. It doesn't
initialize the flat screen display properly. There is a Debian swirl
but response to keyboard commands which should be screen displays on
which I type answers, or menus from which I can select options are
replaced by a jibberish of tiny rectangles, mostly empty but some
having a single tiny letter. This is a real show stopper on installing
Squeeze. The same is true for Squeeze bizcard, and Wheezy bizcard.

But my old Lenny netinstall CD *does*work*. Now I need a repository to
point it at. I've found archive.kernel.org (I'm in USA). But I'm
having trouble composing the exact string that I need to type into the
screen on my new(to me) computer. And, I have never had a good
understanding of the magic involved in the apt-get system. I know about
the option 'enter inforation manually' in the menu of countries.
But what do I enter there?

And in the screen that follows asking for 'Debian archive mirror
directory:' which is prefilled with a default of '/debian/', should I
accept /debian/ or replace it? with what?

Lastly, there is a question about a proxy. I don't believe I have a
proxy, but using archive.kernel.org might necessitate one. I hope not.
Proxy?

Please help.

Using the find command

2012-06-19 Thread Alan Chandler
I am trying to debug why my system fails during bootup with udev
failing. I think its related to debian bug #677097

mountall-bootclean.sh cleans the run directory. This program sources
/lib/init/bootclean.sh

Inside there is a function clean_all

At one point it does

clean /run ! -xtype d ! -name utmp ! -name innd.pid || ES=1
clean /run/lock ! -type d || ES=1
clean /run/shm ! -type d || ES=1

which looks as though (with the ! - xtype d...) that its trying not to
recurse down the subdirectories of /run (otherwise why follow the clean
/run with clean /run/lock)

the clean routine ends up passing its parameter to find

what in effect is happening is its cd to /run
then calls find

find . ! -xtype d ! -name utmp ! -name innd.pid -delete

I tried running
find . ! -xtype d ! -name utmp ! -name innd.pid

which is the same command without the -delete action - so I am assuming
it prints the names instead

What happens it that

a) it lists all the files in all subdirectories
b) it finishes up with a line which says find: `! -xtype d ! -name utmp
! -name innd.pid': No such file or directory

I guess this is what is ultimately wrong - since it deletes the
/run/udev directory which udev is using.

However I can't find any real documentation on find which explains why
it outputs that error message. Can any gurus out there explain

Re: Using the find command

2012-06-19 Thread Shane Johnson
Alan,
from what I can see, it's just supposed to delete files and not touch
directories, any files name utmp or innd.pid. the ! prefixing the
tests negates the test to pull the opposite. By using xtype it's just
handling links differently. This command shouldn't be deleting your
udev directory. (the ! -xtype d is the part that singles the
directories out).

I think it needs a -maxdepth 1. What I think is happening is that yes,

listing the files within

So the directory remains, but the files in it do not.

The quotes were a red herring - its needed to make all options pass as

If so, there has to be a file at /etc/bash_completion.d/**ooffice.sh
 for
that purpose, installed by openoffice.org-common package.

That file exists, yes

Otherwise, if completion is not working at all, chances are that during
upgrade your /etc/bash.bashrc was overwritten/changed so that the
completion part was commented out (I think that is the default on vanilla
 installs?).
Have a look at /etc/bash.bashrc and search for a comment:

 # enable bash completion in interactive shells

and uncomment the lines just after it.

That does appear to be anywhere but if I source it I still have the
problem.

Clarification of the problem: if I do
 ls .perTAB
it completes the directory (.personal)
but if I try
 oocalc .perTAB
it doesn't complete.
If I try other commands, eg
  emacs .perTAB
they seem to complete okay

That question is easy to answer, the nouveau module does not exist
because James is running an obsolete 2.6.30 kernel. Upgrading to the
Squeeze kernel should rectify this.

Sounds like you need to use the non graphical install option.

Basically, go with the defaults offered, unless you have a specific need
for changing anything.

I didn't request graphical install. That comes AFTER the place in the sequence
where I get to choose non-graphical or graphical. I always choose non-graphical
when I have the opportunity. The non-graphical has used Xwindows* automatically
for some time now and paints a pretty picture from the get-go. In any case, I
still would like to try to install Lenny from an archival mirror in order to
see if see if there is a way out of buying newer, more expensive hardware.

Thanks for responding.

* note: I don't know that X is involved in painting the screen graphics on
boot up from the Debian install CDs. When I think about it, X seems like
an awfully heavy weight way to paint a picture. Suffice to say I don't want
and have never selected graphical install.

You could also post the contents of your /etc/apt/sources.list.

From reading the errors, his sources.list points to sarge, etch, *and*

etch main contrib non-free (with security for main and contrib, and
main from the US and Germany)
sarge main contrib non-free (all from the US, no security)
lenny main (from the US, no security)
(no sources are apparent)

So his /etc/apt/sources.list is probably a little something like this
(based on parsing through the errors provided):

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sarge main contrib non-free

deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ etch main
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ etch main contrib non-free

Joysankar,

You need to clean your /etc/apt/sources.list file and pick one
distribution to track. The recommended option, of course, is squeeze,
the next release after lenny. If you decide to stick with one of the
releases you're using here, pick lenny and point to archive.debian.org
rather than ftp.us.debian.org.

Then run the usual apt-get update. You should probably do an apt-get
dist-ugprade as well. I suspect this system is a little screwed up if
this the apparent state of /etc/apt/sources.list is as indicated by
the errors you posted.

 Not necessary.

Thanks, but...

I think I have already tried that, and I tried again just now, just to
make sure, and again I got the standard Bad Archive Mirror
message. That message suggests that either the archive is not
available, or that there is not a valid Release file in it. I have
looked at the site with iceweasel, the site is available, and a readme
says it contains Lenny, but I don't know where to look in order to
see if it contains a valid Lenny release file. I find it hard to believe
that it contains all that I see, but not a release file in the proper
place, but maybe yes. OTOH maybe its there and I didn't find and netinstCD
didn't find it as well. I've looked at the Debian archive mirror in Europe
with iceweasel and it looks to be no different than archive.kernel.org

Is there another site with Lenny files that is more accessable for use
with a netinst CD ? Maybe the archive is optimized for downloading of
individual packages, one at a time, and doesn't really understand the
way CDs are programmed to get stuff.

Ideas?
