Si el sistema no arranca normalmente, intenta iniciar en modo de 
recuperación desde el menú de GRUB, para poder al menos acceder al 
sistema y ver los registros y trabajar desde ahí.

Según las especificaciones del portátil, lleva una gráfica Intel Mobile 
Intel® GMA X3100, por lo que en principio no deberías tener problemas 
con el servidor gráfico ni con el kernel, ya que cargará el modo KMS.

Revisa estas indicaciones por si te estuviera afectando alguno de los 
pronblemas conocidos para este chipset:

Take a look at XFE, a fairly full-featured, but lightweight, X-based
file manager. It seems compatible with all window-manager only or DTE
systems. I've been using it since I upgraded to Wheezy/Openbox (No
DTE just the window manager) from Fedore 12/Gnome years ago. XFE
continued to work fine with Stretch, Buster and now Devuan Beowulf.

1986 seems to be a bit too early to me, since the first SUSE Linux (1.0)
was released 1994.
S.U.S.E. 6.0 was released Dec '98 and S.U.S.E. 6.1 released in Aug '99.
Maybe that's the year you wanted to tell.

en faite je me suis rendu compte que des fois c’est les meme et d’une marque à 
une autre ils ont des noms différents !
et donc je pense qu’il faut faire un grafcet, pour connaître les besoins en

I prefer those tools, which does the job best: Sometimes MC, sometimes the 
commandline and sometimes graphical tools.

And I gife a f..k on this, what people tell about my tools.

This includes also weindowmanagers: Sometimes I am using LXDE or LxQT (i.e. on 
my EEEPC), sometimes Plasma5 and sometimes XFCE (this also with kali-
undercover). 

I also checked with TDE (fast on my EEEPC), but as it got interfered with 
Plasma5, I had do deinstall it (for those who are interested: The interference 
was with ksysguard and kmail, there were suddenly two of them with same 
menuentries, same icons and both interfered each other).

However: That is what counts in linux: Doing one tool for one task at itss 
best!

Mauvaise pioche.

Le résultat est toujours le même. En plein écran, plus aucun son. Mais
si je bascule la sortie sur l'interface casque, analogique, toute bête,
ça fonctionne. Le problème est donc plus autour du pilote HDMI que du
son lui-même.

But it has likely grown some since the last time I played with it, so you 
might find it useful if you like eye candy.

Il semblerait (conditionnel) que ton système veuille utiliser Pipewire
en tant que service Systemd restreint à la session utilisateur mais que
ce système ne puisse être démarré parce que lancé avec le user root
(démarrage d'un service Systemd global système?)

démarré par défaut: j'ai laissé la config standard qui installe des
bibliothèques et exécutables mais ne remplace pas le serveur
Pulseaudio.

Merci à ceux qui mont répondu !
Je vais tester ces différentes solutions :
- mysocket me parait bien durant le développement
- Dyndns avoir un nom de domaine c'est mieux pour la suite
- @NoSpam ce qui me motive à l'auto-hébergement c'est indépendance en premier, 
mais aussi que je n'ai pas envie de faire du php/mysql.
Il me semble que l'avantage d'un VPS, serait de pouvoir installer PostgreSQL, 
ruby ou python et utiliser rails ou django pour le développement.
J'ai trouvé un VPS pas cher avec Debian dans le choix des OS...

the erason many use TDE is 
- it is very small in size
- it is very reliable (things just work)

even the bugs are well known and constantly fixed

So may be you are more for an adventage with another desktop. For me some
few months experience with Gnome or KDE4 or 5 was enough to stick to TDE.

ocrmypdf has quite a few dependencies on my machine.

The  multitude of packages corresponds more or less to the multiple
languages of the human multitude. I guess the OP's working in English
('tesseract-ocr-eng', pulled in with all the others here when installing
the above).

Bon, autres tests.

Je démarre la machine, je me connecte à kde, je peux tester les voies
gauche et droite. Le son fonctionne. Je lance vlc, j'arrive à lire une
vidéo. Je mets vlc en plein écran, plus de son. Je passe en mode
fenêtré, plus de son non plus.

Je test alors les voies gauche et droite, plus rien n'est envoyé (et
pavucontrol m'indique que les données envoyées sont de toute façon trop
courtes). Je sors de vlc, je teste le son. Rien. Au bout de quelques
dizaines de secondes, ça revient !?

Je refais la manipulation plusieurs fois, ça ne rate pas, le résulat
est toujours le même. Lorsqu'il n'y a plus de son, pulseaudio est
toujours actif. Le relancer par un pulseaudio -k ne sert à rien.

Oui, enfin, de la video FullHD, ça tient sur un rPI 1... Avec ce type
de machine, je tiens normalement deux écrans FullHD (c'était ce genre de

Ça m'étonnerait que ce soit cela. Sur la "grosse" machine, dans la même
configuration (diskless), ça fonctionne parfaitement.

Côté serveur, rien n'a changé. Les paramètres nfs sont les mêmes sur
tous les clients. Je ne vois pas pourquoi seul ce client aurait un
problème. Le noyau est exactement le même sur l'i9 et l'i5 (seule
différence notable, le son sur l'i9 ne sort par par la liaison HDMI et,
naturellement, la carte graphique qui est une carte de compétition car
c'est un poste de CAO).

Il n'y a pas de problème réseau, il n'est jamais saturé. Le serveur
sort sur un switch qui fait de l'agrégation et les clients sont
connectés de la même manière. Il n'y a pas de problème de câblage non plus.

I started to type similar in answer to a different thread a couple
days ago. The only drawback about this CHOICE is that sometimes the
desired packages bring in a [boatload] of dependencies that are only
related to the desktop environment most likely to be developing them..
and their interoperability.

Appreciate these threads. I was wanting to install another instance of
Debian. For some dingbat reason, it NEVER occurred to me to pick
something other than XFCE4 on a partition by itself.

As I type that, I do remember having problems with themes and such
features not playing consistently when the same entire /home/user
directory is rbind'ed to all of them. During those times, though, I
had three or four desktop environments all installed on the same
single partition. I'm smelling a lot of symlinking and rbind'ing
necessary to make it work. There was at least one thread about that
quite a while back.

Once you have a PDF containing the images (img2pdf may be used for
that), I think the cleverest way is to use ocrmypdf.
It adds an OCR text layer to the PDF file, so the PDF text becomes
selectable and can be copied.
It uses the Tesseract OCR engine.

$ ocrmypdf -f inputfile.pdf outputfile.pdf

Jitsi-meet fails intermittently

Tried to send this message a month ago but couldn't it accepted by the 
list server due to the way it authenticates. Trying it again now that 
I've switched hosts to one that claims it accepts the list server's 
null-message test.


I've also had to do the uninstall, reboot and reinstall one more time 
since then. This problem is becoming annoying because stuff running on 
stable I expect to work reliably.




I've been running a jitsi meet server for about 16 months now on 
Debian/Stable. Last Christmas it stopped working.



The server was running and accepting connections but participants 
couldn't see or hear each other. I fixed the problem by doing apt remove 
jitsi-meet && apt autoremove then rebooting and reinstalling. The 
removal and reinstall seem necessary as neither a simple reinstall nor a 
reboot fix the problem.


It's been working fine ever since until up until last night when I 
tested it prior to another meeting (I'd used it monthly between the 
previous failure and last night). I got the same symptoms so I applied 
the same fix and it started working again.


The jicofo.log and other jitsi logs show bridge failures, which explain 
the symptoms but don't point to cause. I note that jitsi-meet depends on 
at least:
  jitsi-meet-prosody jitsi-meet-web jitsi-meet-web-config 
jitsi-videobridge2 lua-bitop lua-event lua-expat

  lua-filesystem lua-sec lua-socket lua5.2 prosody

Probably other packages are involved as well but these are the ones that 
are unique to jitsi-meet on my server.


Since the autoremove appears to be a necessary part of the fix, I 
suspect that something is getting corrupted in a dependency. I think it 
is likely in the Debian package management (I do full-upgrades and 
autoremoves roughly every week but otherwise rarely touch the server 
software). However this is as far as my problem tracking skills take me.


Any ideas?

But nobody here has said what cooperative.co.uk pointed to in the past,
if anything. My own relationship with the Coop (bank¹/shopping/divi)
ceased before I started using the internet for personal business, so
it's not something I could look up on old correspondence, stationery etc.

I did wonder if it might ever have pointed to the banking arm of the
Coop, back in the days when the "Coop bank" was part of the Coop. If
that were so, they might want to "sanitise" the domain for a long
period of time rather than have people fetch up at either the Coop
proper, or the now completely separate "Co-operative Bank".

That kind of sanitisation would contrast with, say, the way in which
lloydstsb.co.uk gets treated. Here, the old domain is still
functionally identical to lloydsbank.co.uk even though the TSB part
of Lloyds TSB was spun off years ago into tsb.co.uk.

¹ Their selling point back in the 1980s was free current account
  banking for clubs and societies, something the commercial banks
  charged for. And they even gave you giant cheque books (for
  multiple signatories).

My assumption was correct: it sits on 5s for half an hour,
with the fan running fast. It's also more consistent now, so
the only way to boot it successfully is to press Escape F9
immediately at power-on, and then choose anything in the menu
except "Windows Boot Manager".

BTW I have no idea what this last item is: there is no Windows
on the SSD, but presumably something in the UEFI is hanging on
to some other thing. Selecting it goes to a blue screen that says
it's resetting the boot something, but then Grub pops up and
hangs as usual.

Darac's suggestion was being swamped with interrupts. Mine would be
the opposite: with an apparently dead keyboard and no timer countdown,
perhaps their interrupts aren't being generated or serviced.

Le but étant d'avoir une adresse IP commune aux deux VLAN pour que les 
deux puissent utiliser le même résolveur entre les réseaux principal et 
invité.


Si une autre méthode que le bridge est possible, je reste bien entendu 
ouvert aux alternatives :)

Je précise que la sortie son est la sortie HDMI. On retombe peut-être
sur un bug du pilote video.

I can rearrange tabs with the mouse again, and drag-and-drop inside a

Hi.  When I shutdown or halt my laptop, I see error messages like:

I suppose these Btrfs subvolumes do still get unmounted cleanly before
shutdown, because:
1. The success message "[  OK  ] Reached target Unmount All Filesystems."
2. When the laptop turns back on, I don't see any message about unclean
   filesystem.
3. In the output of ~smartctl -a /dev/nvme0n1~, the field "Unsafe
   Shutdowns" dos not increase.

Am I thinking correctly, and can I safely disregard those error messages?

Hilbert fonctionne normalement (aucune erreur). Je constate qu'il y a
une option intr qui traîne, mais celle-ci est ignorée si j'en crois la
page man (ce qui prouve que l'OS a été installé avant le noyau
2.6.25...). Je vais retirer cette option.

De la même façon, j'ai un nolock sur /home et /opt/video sur hilbert
que je n'ai pas sur heisenberg. Cependant, avec le noyau 4.19, tout se
passait correctement et si je vois bien le rapport entre les options NFS
et les erreurs dans la console, je ne vois pas trop le rapport avec les
timers. Il faut cependant noter qu'avec le noyau 4.19, tout se passait
correctement (aucune erreur NFS, aucun problème pour lire des vidéos).
J'ai bien essayé de redémarrer un 4.19, mais ce  de systemd est
tellement imbriqué avec le noyau qu'il refuse de fonctionner normalement
et le démarrage d'un 4.19 échoue !

Je ne suis toutefois pas convaincu que le fait de retirer l'option
nolock va résoudre le problème puisque /var/log/syslog montre que les
erreurs NFS proviennent de / et non de /home (les erreurs sont tracées
avant que /home ne soit montée).

Je n' ai rien vu de particulier dans le dmesg de heisenberg.
Le serveur NFS est un serveur NetBSD 9.2 (i7-4770, 16 Go,
treize disques en grappes Raid1, Raid5, Raid6 et Ccd pour les swaps),
largement dimensionné et le daemon NFS fonctionne avec 16 threads. J'ai
essayé d'augmenter le nombre de threads, mais cela dégrade les
performances (il vaut mieux qu'un client se prenne une erreur NFS de
temps en temps plutôt que de faire monter la charge du serveur, j'ai
fait des benchmarks sur le sujet). NFS est en V3/TCP (j'avais essayé
UDP, mais ça n'améliore pas les choses et ça peut poser des problèmes
sporadiques).

Typiquement, la charge du serveur est inférieure à 1 et il répond sans
problème.

En retirant l'option intr et en rajoutant nolock sur /home et
/opt/video, j'arrive à ouvrir KDE sans que cela ne plante. Mais il y a
toujours des problèmes de vidéo. De temps en temps, ça fonctionne, puis
ça se met à ne plus fonctionner. J'ai essayé à partir d'un compte avec
un VLC correctement paramétré et le résultat est le même que le décodage
soit fait par VAAPI ou en soft (libplacebo). Au bout d'un certain temps,
la sortie son fini par devenir inactive et il me faut redémarrer la
machine pour qu'elle fonctionne à nouveau.

Je prends toute idée...

un /usr/bin/apt install aptitude

et eventuellement

   echo $PATH


et


   /bin/cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Explication: aptitude gère les paquets installés. Il se configure dans 
les fichiers sous/etc/apt/


Et ping teste la connctivité internet ; les serveurs ftp.lip6.fr sont à 
Paris Jussieu.
