I am writing a server that accepts telnet connections. I am using basic
sockets to do so and do not use inetd. I cannot figure out how to disable
the echoing to screen for the password. I have tried everywhere else, this
is my last resort.

Ok am new to the list but I have a few questions. I am completely new to
Linux and I decided to install Debian 2.1 using the book Learning Debian by
Bill McCarty I think, pretty good book it seems. Well anyway I opted for
the standard workstation install that was about 400 and some odd
Some of the packages on the Debian Cd are outdated. Is there anyway I can
put in a source when I install Debian that will download all the newest

I pretty much got things working how I want them except for when I start
x-windows with blackbox, or any window manager for that matter, I get a

Thanks,
Brett

here done this and if so how did it work?
Thanks,

programs? I think that one is gcc, g++, and make?
Thanks
