Hi,
I have downloaded a font packaged in hqx (cmps-macintosh.hqx-computer modern
fonts, actually) and would like to know how can I (unzip?)/convert it into
true type font format so that I can use it with my xfs font server.
Thank you so much

yes,
installing gpm pointing to psaux and editing XF86config file to point to
gpmdata does make the mouse work in console (great!) and X (useless) since I
can't even control the mouse pointer/buttons (moves to fast and does strange
things..)
editing gpmconfig doesn't help since I don't know
if I use procmail, do I still need fetchmail? or exim/qmail? or procmail
can do the filtering, sending and receiving mail...

if you have gnome installed you could use gnome_dialup.
gnome_dialup-This GNOME applet is a graphical replacement of the pon/poff
script. To use this program, you need to use pppconfig to configure the PPP
connection first. Gnome dialup will automatically detect what account is
available for

it's too old? I don't remember if there was ever a debian cd 1.3

first take note your of what your modem's IRQ,I/O settings, dma
channels,etc
in windows..then install isapnptools and then run
'pnpdump/etc/isapnp.conf'(w/o the quotes of course)
modify isapnp.conf using your favorite editor (this is where your taking
notes gets handy ;)) to configure your
aha! so it is a winmodem...don't despair maybe it can work...haven't tried
one though...anyway,don't mess around with serial.confthe problem's not
there...
I believe you forgot to uncomment the line which reads (INT 0 (IRQ 3 (MODE
+E)))
change the IRQ if 3 is being used to 4,5,7 or 9
don't disable uart thingies those are your true serial ports...uart 16550A
is the standard serial port. what you may want to do is compile isapnp
support in your kernel if your modem is plug pray. that way, you won't need to
use isapnptools.
now for the next step, read the kernel-HOWTO to learn
press cntrl+c to freeze it and cntrl+q to unfreeze it

even if you don't redirect it using or |..it *still* gets patched right?
that was what happened to me when I tried to reapply the patch using the |

on a side note, how do you unpatch a wrong patch? using patch -R does work?
read the debian-mini ttf-HOWTO. on a side note, why use staroffice? it'a a
memory hog...use LaTeX instead if you really want to impress.

just add the 'fixed' font in your default path i.e.

--
Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net
yes.just edit the file in XF86Config-4 and add the fixed font in your
fontpath lists. actually,
xf86 always falls back to the default font 'fixed' if it's having problems
rendering your fonts
