I am wanting to check my e-mail from my linux box. It is just a pc at home and i use my isp's computer for a pop3 server. I have tried setting up mutt and smail to work with this layout, but i am unable to get either configured correctly. Anyone have a suggestion on which client(s) to use and how to configure them. //Scott -- Unsubscribe? mail -s unsubscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED] /dev/null

Does anyone use MUD clients? If so, has anyone successfully compiles tintin++ v1.5 under hamm? Thanks //Scott -- Unsubscribe? mail -s unsubscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED] /dev/null

Thanks to everyone. I got pppd to connect to my isp. Under plog I see where a serial connection is established and it shows a link between ppp0 and ttyS2. But shortly after the link is created, it hangs up. I have enclosed a excerpt from /var/logs/ppp.log Thanks for any help ahead of time Scott Jun 29 19:26:30 skywalker chat[496]: abort on (BUSY) Jun 29 19:26:30 skywalker chat[496]: abort on (NO CARRIER) Jun 29 19:26:30 skywalker chat[496]: abort on (VOICE) Jun 29 19:26:30 skywalker chat[496]: abort on (NO DIALTONE) Jun 29 19:26:30 skywalker chat[496]: send (ATDT6462828^M) Jun 29 19:26:30 skywalker chat[496]: expect (name) Jun 29 19:26:49 skywalker chat[496]: ATDT6462828^M^M Jun 29 19:26:49 skywalker chat[496]: CONNECT 14400/ARQ/V32/LAPM/V42BIS^M Jun 29 19:27:15 skywalker chat[496]: alarm Jun 29 19:27:15 skywalker chat[496]: send (^M) Jun 29 19:27:15 skywalker chat[496]: expect (name) Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: ^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: ^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: User Access Verification^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: ^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: Username -- got it Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: send (shussey^M) Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: expect (word) Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: : shussey^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: Password -- got it Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: send (burt10^M) Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: expect (chilly) Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: : ^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: ^M Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: chilly -- got it Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker chat[496]: send (ppp negotiate^M) Jun 29 19:27:16 skywalker pppd[494]: Serial connection established. installing a modem under debian 1.3
I am a very novice Linux/Debian user and am trying to setup minicom. I am curious about how to get minicom to recognize my modem. I read in the man page that most linux systems have the serial port as /dev/modem or /dev/cua#. How can I get Linux to install my modem as a dev. Currently, pppd recognizes my modem as ttys2, but minicom gives me the message 'I/O Error' when it tries to open ttys2. Any help is greatly appreciated. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
