I tried to install debian-live-7.4-amd64-xfce-desktop.isohttp://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/debian-live-7.4-amd64-xfce-desktop.isoonto a 16gb sandisk USB using both Unetbootin and Linux Live USB in Windows and when I try to boot it all I get is missing operating system. Does anyone know why this is happening? I previous had tails on this USB and it was always able to boot just fine. Compiling kernel: problem!
Hi all I try compiling kernel 3.10 on Squeeze 6.0.7. with cpu Intel Centrino1 32bit. Unpack source in /usr/src, and: adduser user src chown -R root:src /usr/src chmod -R g+w /usr/src cp /boot/config-`uname -r` ./.config make menuconfig, but don't change any! make deb-pkg After finishid, 4 file.deb is present: linux-image-3.10.0_3.10.0-1_i386.deb linux-headers-3.10.0_3.10.0-1_i386.deb linux-firmware-image_3.10.0-1_i386.deb linux-libc-dev_3.10.0-1_i386.deb After installed file.deb and reboot, the hard disk change letters! from sda1 to hda1. From console, the command: fdisk -l, blkid and mount, is very slow! What could be the problem? I don't know what to do! Don't panic. If you are interested in reporting the problem, jump to a debug console or save the logs somewhere, then open a bug report and append the data. If you only want to get the system installed, skip the netwok configuration and install the system with the CD or DVD packages. The first step is choosing a language but I think you do not mean that. What do you mean by 'stand-by'? There is no response to any key presses? Please say what medium you used for the iso, how the iso was put on it and which operating system you used to do it. I try install from hdd with image installer hd-media, and iso file from cdrom. The partial log here: The whole log would have been far more useful, or at the least the whole portion of it starting from when the installer had completed booting.
