Broadcasting Solution...

2002-01-23 Thread Jenner Almanzar
Hello everyone!

I'm trying to find a cost-effective solution for a broadcast service i'm providing, so i need your help to figure this out.
This is what i got in mind: Since we know that we can put more than one sound card device in one computer, and each RS (radio station) that we broadcast through a server has a domain name (example: http://dr.radio.com:), i though to set up a server with at least 4-5 sound cards and broadcast 4-5 RS using one ip address and each RS with a different domain name.
For example:

Here are my questions:
- Is it possible to broadcast more than one radio stations from one server using one ip address?

- Will it be a problem for you to receive each one of these RS signal there?
In case it's not possible, what can i do to make it happend?

Best regards,
Jenner

(debian/dists/potato/.). Si no la tienes pues
 mira

 crear
 los Packages.gz.

how can i set ftp mode to passive in order to download
some files from a website?

i use this command:

wget
http://216.219.229.225/download/debian-2.2r3-1.iso

It tells me to wait for an answer, but then it tells
me that i cannot download it 'cause the host doesn't
found a local ip ('cause i got a mask ip).

Re: ???

I really appreciate your help!!!

is there any way to download the drivers and install the card without
recompiling the kernel, cause i'm very new in the linux world and i'm not sure
what you trying to say recompile, is it reinstalling?

Quoting Miguel Griffa [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

when you compile modules(when you install them, actuly), they appear in

 something like /lib/kernel-version/...
 try this command:
 find /lib -name rtl8139.o
if there's no such file, you should recompile the kernel, enable module

support and compile this as a module
you should be done by then

I know i'm suppost to run modprobe driver.o but when i run it it says:
 can't locate module

the ethernet card it a realtek 8139
 my kernel is 2.1
this kernel usppost to have the rtl8139 which is the driver for this
 card,
 but
 it doesn't.

 what can i do?

First check if it is compatible, then find which kernel module you
 need
   for
it, then modprobe you_kernel_module and you got it. You _may_ need
 to
recompile kernel in order have your module

   good luck
