Problem with Joystick and devfs

2001-05-05 Thread Jeremy Rosen

Hello everybody

I am using a testing debian with a 2.4.3 kernel, and devfs installed, but I
can't make my joystick work.
My joystick is installed on the gameport of my sound card : sb 64 pci

devfs dosn't seem to detect it. Here are the few clues I have.

I think I have installed the proper drivers in the kernel :
the one for my sound blaster pci 64
the one for core input
the one for core joystick
My analogous joystick two button
a game port which seemed to be mine (ns 558)

I have found a few more things : When I compile the sound driver as a module, I
have a message telling me that the joystick is not installed. I can have a
message telling me that it is installed when I load the module with the proper
option, but I still dont have any joystick device in my /dev or /dev/input

any idea ?

Thanks

Jeremy

problem with dpkg-buildpackage

2001-05-01 Thread Jeremy Rosen

Hello all...

I have a small problem with dpkg-buildpackage.

I have a software I upgrade from time to time with cvs, which comes bundled
with a debian directory containing everything to build the .deb archive.

Usually, I just type dpkg-buildpackage in the proper directory, and everything
is built correctly. But since a couple of days, dpkg gives me the following
error
  invalid sign interface specified

I use the testing, qith a 2.4.3 kernel. I havn't studied (yet) how dpkg works,
I usually use apt, but to build this software I just did what the readme told
me.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Jeremy

I hasd a few similar problems with fetchmail. apparantly it seems to have
problems with som chars in the subject.

when you run fetchmail in testing mode (via fetchmailconf ) what is the output.

this could help grately.

Thanks
