ktorrent: symbol lookup error ???
hi all, i am using debian unstable. after last upgrade; i get the error: ktorrent: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libktorrent-2.2.5.so: undefined symbol: fstat64 when i try to open Ktorrent. besides i can't even start Ktorrent if i remove .kde/share/apps/ktorrent directory. get the same error above. i got a similar error yesterday when i tried to burn a cd with k3b. (error was: k3b: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libk3b.so.3: undefined symbol: stat64) what is wrong with debian ? what should i do in order not to get errors above ? thanks in advance, bye. -- MFA

hi all,i have a new computer and it has asus945 mainboard with realtek rtl 8168/8111 pci-e gigabit ethernet nic ethernet card on it.i tried to install debian-etch net install image (daily-fetch) but it couldnt detect my ethernet card ;( and this brand (i checked it from windows hardware manager) was not in debianlist. dpkg serious warning ? help please ...
hi all,i tried to install a deb package named 'lale', but installation process failed.then tried couple of times again. each time got same error and stopped installing that package.but since then, when i try to install another package or run apt-get, i get dpkg errors related to that package 'lale'. [errors indicate that 1 not completely installed or removed package i had.]so finally i decided to purge everything under /var/lib/dpkg/info that start with lale ;)and know i get another error which is :dpkg: serious warning: files list file for package `lale' missing, assuming package has no files currently installed. how can i fix such errors ?what should i do when an installation process goes wrong ? how should i reconfigure dpkg ?many thanks in advance.Cheers,MFA

hi Evan,kde-3.5.0 is not stable yet. i mean it is not included in sarge repositories. [at least in my country its in unstable or testing repositories.]therefore if you want to install a stable debian system you'll probably have a kde version of 3.2 or 3.3 or something like that.so you have to upgrade some packages that are necessary to install kde-3.5.0[or 3.5.1] as well.you dont have any decision maker role here ;) i'm sorry :pits a relationship among packages to work correctly so you cannot break into :'( the packages that are MUSTS to install kde-3.5.0 or + are listed on kde.org's download page. you can check that page and see which packages you need to install kde.[check this page : http://kde.org/info/requirements/3.5.php]Cheers,MFA

mouse buttons problem - need help ?
hi all,i've been using debian for months but still not able to use my optic mouse effectively as i did with XP.it has 4 buttons and 2 scrolls.buttons : left - right (as exist in every mouse) backward - forward (backward is at left side of left button and forward is at right side of right button.)scrools : one is to move up - down in a page and the other is to move left - right in a page. my mouse definition in xorg.conf is like this :Section InputDevice Identifier Configured Mouse Driver mouse Option CorePointer Option Device /dev/psaux Option Protocol ImPS/2 Option Emulate3Buttons true Option ZAxisMapping 4 5 6 7 Option Buttons 9EndSectionwhat am i doing wrong ? dont know how to change these Options ??? any idea ?now let me tell what my buttons and scrolls do :buttons : left and right buttons work fine. merhaba,internet baglantiniz iyiyse neden net installer'dan yuklemiyorsunuz ?kurulumu oldukca basit.cd'yi takip boot ediyo ve kurulumu gerceklestireceginiz diskinizi secip lokasyon ve zaman ayarlamalarini yapiyorsunuz. sistemin temel kurulumu gerceklestikten sonra [reboot ediyorsunuz] root passwordu olusturup sonrasinda apt-get icin turkiyeden bir iki ftp sunucu adresi belirliyorsunuz.daha sonra tek yapmaniz gereken :#apt-get install kde kdm x-window-system ve enter!bu komut ile 300-400 mb arasi bi indirim gerceklesecek. bu download and install olayi bittikten sonra sisteminize kavusuyorsunuz ;)[ps: root disinda yeni bir user daha olusturmalisiniz, aksi taktirde grafik ekrandan giris yapamazsiniz.] daha detayli bilgi icin : http://www.enginkuzu.com/debian-kurulum.php

merhaba,yazdiginizin aynini yaptiydim fakat sonuc yine basarisiz olmustu.stable'i kaldirip, unstable testing ve de experimental depolarin adreslerini girip;#apt-get update#apt-get dist-upgrade dedigimde kde-amusements hata vermisti. daha sonra stable depodan kde'yi kurup sonrada tekrar sourceslist'i degistirerek dist-upgrade yaptim ;)biraz zahmetli oldu fakat sonucta emelime ulastim.

merhaba,[kdm opsiyonel] derken bunu kurmaniza gerek yok demek istemistim.kdm kurarsaniz bilgisayariniza actiginizda karsiniza login icin grafik arayuz gelir. bu olmadan da konsoldan giris yaptiktan sonra startx komutuyla x'i baslatabilirsiniz. 'yok ben grafik arayuz olsun isterim' diyosaniz : xdm, kdm ya da gdm. bunlardan herhangi birini kurabilirsiniz. ;)
