Hi, I am wondering where has task-print-service gone? When I try to update my testing Debian installation, apt wants to remove task-print-service with a large number of CUPS related packages. Should I allow this or is this something I need to wait until gets fixed. I don't see task-print-service

Hi all, I recently installed Squeeze from the last week weekly snapshot and it is up-to-date. It is installed on a laptop and the strange thing is that when GDM starts it is dimmed to lowest level of LCD brightness. After logging in the brightness is changed to its maximum if on AC power.

I also experience this with Debian Squeeze on intel hda audio hardware. It's never really bothered me and I'm not concerned that it will do any damage. I can tell you what I would try if I was concerned: I'd begin by disabling ALSA from starting at boot. Once I get to a console I'd initialize

I was able to achieve the desired resolution of 1280x800 (equivalent to, I think, 0x361) by manually editing grub.cfg but the grub menu does not show correctly. It only fills the left top quarter of the screen and parts of it cannot be seen. The rest was fine (the boot up of linux I mean)
