Hello, I compiled kernel 2.2.10 today and almost everything went fine. The only problem is when booting. In /etc/rcS.d S40network is called and there you find the line route add -net 127.0.0.0 wich gives me SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument Was there change that I did not get? Sth. else I missed? FW: Kernel 2.2.7 and Sound
Hello, I have just upgraded to Kernel 2.2.7 and compiled sound support as a module. When I try to play a sound file, I get sth like splay: Failed to open sound device. /dev/dsp[1] and /dev/audio[1] exsist. The logfile shows: May 15 11:18:34 socrates modprobe: can't locate module sound-slot-0 May 15 11:18:34 socrates modprobe: can't locate module sound-service-0-3 My /etc/conf.mod says: alias char-major-14 soundcore It seems to have to do with the dma and irqs of the SB-SoundCard, since they are not the defaults. How can I set the sound card up correctly. I guess, I have to give some options in /etc/conf.mod, but I could not find any hints on how to do that. What is the correct syntax of the option line? KDE and .Xdefaults
Hi, I just installed KDE from ftp.kde.org. It is the slink version. My box is running potato. The main problem at the moment is, that on startup neither my .Xdefaults nor my .xinitrc is read. I applied the changes to /etc/X11/Xsession as described in the kdm pages. But the defaults or inits are not read. Saying that, I am not quite sure about that, either, since ls -l on my .xsession-errors shows the actual date. But the logs show only the last entries, so I do not know, what commands are executed. So: 1. Am I missing sth? What do I have to do to read .Xdefaults of .xinitrc 2. What ways do I have to find out, which lines of .Xdefaults of .xinitrc are executed? 3. Is there a possibility to increase the logging size of .xsession-errors? Hope, you can help me Regards, Ralf Ralf Comtessee-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Gipsstrasse 15 Tel: +49-30-28599230 10119 Berlin Fax: +49-30-28599231 Member of the Cetus Team. TeTeX and fonts
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hello, since a while ago, when I upgraded my tetex distribution, not all fonts are used when using LaTeX or lyx.
