I've been struggling to fully setup some machines with A2SDi-8C-HLN4F
motherboards and Intel x553 NICs (which require recent ixgbe support) as
Debian stable machines.
Thanks to considerable help from this list, I've been able to
successfully setup the machines over the net using buster/testing
I wish to configure a server with two SATA connected SSD disks in
software RAID1.
I'm not sure how best to configure the disks for boot, particularly in
UEFI boot mode, to ensure that /dev/sdb can be booted if (for example)
/dev/sda fails.

I solved my problem cludgily by making an output file of exim -bp and
then vimming it so that it contained a set of exim -Mrf id lines. I
then sourced the file.
There must be a more elegant solution without using perl or python.

network cards as unsupported:

Do I need to compile something into the kernel?
