In sarge (kernel 2.4) minicom can take the modem off the hook fine. All the
AT commands receive an OK in response. I sarge, the modem works.

DOSEMU: ttys lock: (/usr/spool/uucp/LCK .. mouse): No such file or dir.
There is no /usr/spool/uucp/ directory so it can't make
/usr/spool/uucp/LCK .. mouse I had a similar problem when I ran a non-Debian
version of efax. It should use /var/lock/LCK..mouse instead. Maybe

My number one stumbling block with Linux seems to be making it boot.
I've a kernel on the /dev/sda2 partition in the /boot directory,
and it's called vmlinuz. My boot partition doesn't seem to be set
correctly, because it's not booting /dev/sda2 as root. Instead, it
displays Loading Linux

Sorry for the confusion. It turns out that more is not the same as less
on slackware but man automatically uses less without a variable set. I'm
pretty sure it is not using a temp file.
Is there any reason the default PAGER on Debian should not be set to less
out of the box?

I installed 0.93r6 but did not see where dselect gave the disk space
used by packages. This is obviously a very important piece of information.
